Davao attack validates NPA terroristic leanings - Lorenzana

The New People’s Army (NPA)’s unprovoked attacks on various Lapanday Food Corp. (LFC) facilities in Davao City last April 29 emphasizes the group’s terroristic inclinations.

This was stressed by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana even as he strongly condemns the NPAs for the latest atrocities.

“They just confirmed without a doubt their terrorist designation. They also confirmed my accusations that they are anti-progress, anti-development, and antipeople,” he added.

Davao banana Sino naval goodwill visits could farm strike settled reduce tension in disputed WPS

The labor problem in one of the biggest Cavendish banana growers and exporter in Davao was settled with the signing of an agreement between the management and the firm’s workers’ union, the regional labor office reported.

The Regional Conciliation and Mediation Board (RCMB) resolved the dispute in weeks of conciliation conferences between Musahamat Farms Incorporated and the Musahamat Workers Labor Union – NAFLUKMU. The strike was prompted by the union’s complaint of unfair labor practice against management following the transfer of two of the union’s board of directors to other department.

Starting as a case for preventive mediation last

February, it matured to a full-blown strike in early April, but a marathon conciliation meetings resulted to early settlement of the dispute two weeks into the strike.

The management agreed to reinstate to their previous positions union board members Mario Alfonso and Dionisio Gultia.

As part of the settlement, labor and management also agreed that the wage scheme of workers will be based on hourly rate and that the harvesters shall be paid based on the eight-hour scheme which started last week.

The parties likewise agreed, among others, to immediately implement wage adjustments under Wage Order No. RTWPBXI-19, as well as to resolve

Lapanday says NPA attacks ‘to displace hundreds of workers, business partners’ DAVAO CITY– Lapanday Foods Corporation (LFC) said Sunday that “hundreds of employees and business partners” will be displaced by the attacks of the New People’s Army (NPA) on its facilities in Barangay Mandug here and in nearby Davao del Norte.

Another attack was also staged by the rebels at the Macondray Plastic Plant in Barangay Tagpore, Panabo City on the same day.

“It is they (workers and small business partners) who are now jobless and

shall bear the brunt of the consequences of this vicious act, the company said,” LFC said.

The company did not specify how many of its workers and business partners will be displaced due to the attacks.

Mayor Sara DuterteCarpio condemned the incident, saying that the NPA

cannot be trusted despite the government extending its hands for peace talks.

LFC, however, expressed relief that none of their employees were hurt during the attack, but complained that some of their properties as well as workers’ personal belongings were missing.

The expected “declaration” on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers may likely takes place by November of this year.

That petitioners are husband and wife respectively in a marriage performed under Civil rites on December 28, 2010 at Dangcagan, Bukidnon, both petitioners had been converted to Muslim and thereby embraced Islam Religion as their new found faith, by virtue of their respective intellectual choices which which were duly registered with this court, both of them can be served with summons and other legal processes relative to this case at their residents at Malaybalay, Bukidnon and Dalipuga, Iligan City respectively;

That said marriage did not last long due to lack of love and affection until the relationship manifested incompatibility and sustained misunderstanding between petitioners and reached the point of irreconcilability and they separated from each other for more than six (6) years,they decided to separate live physically in bed and board thereby, executed Memorandum of Agreement in order to formalize their separation. Since their separation, they had never been communicating or supporting either financially or emotionally to each other,neither minding each other affair’s; Petitioner’s seek judicial decree of divorce, thereby, severing their marriage bond on December 28, 2010, so that they will have free hand to do what a single man or woman could do without marital burdens. Reconciliation between them had already been diligently employed but all proved futile.

WHEREFORE, finding this petition to be sufficient in form and substance, set the initial hearing of this case on May 30, 2017 at 9:00 a.m at which time, date and place. Any interested party may appear and show why the petition should not be granted. Let copy of this Order be published in a news paper of General Circulation in the City of Iligan once a week for three (3) consecutive weeks at the expense of the petitioners.

The declaration was marked by the signing of the ASEAN member states’ leaders headed by President Rodrigo R. Duterte in the conduct of the 30th ASEAN Summit in Manila.

BARELY two weeks after its Cagayan Town Center branch grand opening, Bucket O’ Shrimps will open yet another branch and this time a more spacious one at SM CDO Downtown Premier.
