Pres. Duterte completes visit to ASEAN countries F

oreign Affairs Acting Secretary Enrique Manalo praised the completed ASEAN visits of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte by emphasizing the importance of agreements between countries, including a framework on code of conduct, to promote cooperation, stability, and sustainability during a press briefing held Wednesday at the Mandarin Oriental.

A1 Davao mayor to form ‘anti-vices’ body DAVAO CITY – Davao City Mayor Sara DuterteCarpio will sign an executive order creating the Vices Regulation Unit to oversee “full compliance” to the ordinances on liquor ban, anti-smoking law and the selling of alcoholic drinks and cigarettes to minors. The executive order will reportedly be issued on April 3. Duterte -Carpio wanted strict compliance to all three ordinances following complaints from parents of minors, and reports that some bars and restaurants are circumventing the law. The city hall is targeting establishments categorized under the entertainment industry such as videoke bars, resto-bars, restaurants and shops in beach resorts. ‘Cynical’ New York Times report a ‘well-paid hack job’ – Palace By CIELITO M. REGANIT

Malacañang on Wednesday assailed the New York Times (NYT) article portraying President Rodrigo Duterte as a ‘thug’ and a ‘brutal strongman’ and said that the op- ed piece is nothing more than a ‘well-paid hack job’ out to embarrass the President and intimidate him over his independent foreign policy. In a statement, Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella slammed the NYT article as a “cynical and unfair narration of President Duterte’s rise to power in the context of violence.”

“One would expect more from The New York Times. Their article, ‘Becoming Duterte: The Making of a Philippine Strongman,’ sounds like a well-paid hack job for well-heeled clients with shady motives,” the Palace official said. In the said NYT article published March 21, Richard Paddock described Duterte as a man who” relishes the image of killer -savior.” “Mr. Duterte and his friends have long cultivated legends of his sadistic exploits, like throwing a drug

lord from a helicopter and forcing a tourist who violated a smoking ban to eat his cigarette butt at gunpoint. It is a thuggish image that Mr. Duterte embraces,” the NYT correspondent wrote. “Whether Mr. Duterte has done what he says -- the killings he claims to have carried out are impossible to verify -- he has realized his gory vision in national policy. The stakeholder input and relations are key parts of planning, implementing and evaluating complex education programs in schools. Stakeholders shape the school curriculum implementation. The greatest clientele in the implementation of cur-

riculum is our learner. They are the center of our curriculum. The learners are the very reason a curriculum is developed. They are the ones who are directly influenced by it. Learners in all levels make or unmake the curriculum by their active and direct involvement. How each individual learner contributes to the realization of a planned curriculum would

depend on the interactions and internalization of the different learning experiences provided. Teachers are the one who implement and develop the curriculum. Our administrators are the one who supervise curriculum implementation, select

and recruit new teachers, admit students, procure equipment and materials needed for effective learning. They also plan for the improvement of school facilities and physical plants. With the help of our parents as supporters of the curriculum and our

community as curriculum resources there would be a successful implementation of our curriculum. Stakeholders have roles in our curriculum. Their functions are not limited to what are the needs of the school to which they

are really needed as long as they are willing to extend their support. In my station, these stakeholders are parents, barangay officials and those hold businesses in the barangay. These individual are capable of extending support to the school.

Since their separation, they had never been communicating or supporting either financially or emotionally to each other,neither minding each other affair’s; Petitioner’s seek judicial decree of divorce, thereby, severing their marriage bond on June 18, 2010, so that they will have free hand to do what a single man or woman could do without marital burdens. Reconciliation between them had already been diligently employed but all proved futile. WHEREFORE, finding this petition to be sufficient in form and substance, set the initial hearing of this case on April 14, 2017 at 9:00 a.m at which time, date and place. WORLD Water Day on March 22 every year is about taking action to tackle the water crisis. Today, 1.8 billion people use a source of drinking water contaminated with feces, putting them at risk of contracting cholera, dysenter y, typhoid and polio. The Sustainable Development Goals launched in 2015 include a target to ensure everyone has access to safe water by 2 0 3 0 , m a k i ng w ate r a key issue in the fight to

eradicate extreme poverty. In 1993, the United Nations General Assembly designated March 22 as World Water Day. World Water Day is coordinated by UN Water in collaboration with governments and partners. Globally, the vast majority of all wastewater from our homes, cities, i n du s t r y an d a g r i c u l ture flows back to nature without being treated or reused – polluting the environment and losing

valuable nutrients and other recoverable materials. Instead of wasting wastewater, we need to reduce and reuse it. In our homes, we can reuse grey water in our gardens and plots. In our cities, we can treat and reuse wastewater for green spaces. In industry and agriculture, we can treat and recycle discharge for things like cooling systems and irrigation. By exploiting this valuable res ource, we w i l l make the water cycle work better for ever y living thing.
