The rite last Saturday capped a two month-long quest in searching the best non-mainstream media writers of Northern Mindanao. The Cagayan de Oro elimination was held last November 25 at Mindanao University of Science and Technology; the Gingoog and Ozamiz elims were held earlier this month. Winners of the three eliminations clashed during the final round held Saturday morning at Primavera. The task to select the best budding journalists in this part of the country was too tedious that it took a total of 24 judges to choose the best entries – three AWARDS | Page B2
