Guialani decries arrest: ‘political harrassment’ Volume VI, No. 037

CAGAYAN de Oro City-William Guialani, the principal complainant in the anti-graft and disqualification charges against Mayor Oscar Moreno, decried his arrest Wednesday night as “political harassment.” Guialani , the former village chief of Taglimao, was arrested Wednesday night on arrival from Manila at the Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental on a warrant involving “acts of lasciviousness.” From Laguindingan, Guialani was whisked to the police detention center in Cagayan De Oro City Police Office where he posted a Php 200,000 bail for his temporary liberty Thursday noon. MISAMIS Oriental––Five persons were killed and one in critical condition in a road mishap Wednesday in Medina town, 111 kilometers east of Cagayan de Oro City. A police report reaching the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) identified the fatalities as John Loyd Bola, 17, of Mandihilag, Talisayan, Jerry Salarda, 59, driver, Antonia ated shortly after his arrest at the Laguindingan airport on Wednesday night. City Council okays House rules, officers

CAGAYAN de Oro City–– As its first official acts, the 18th City Council of Cagayan de Oro during its inaugural session on July 4 adopted Resolution No. 12390-2016, prescribing its Rules of Procedure and Resolution No. 12391-2016, electing its officers. Councilor Zaldy O. Ocon was elected as the presiding officer protempore with Councilor Ian Mark Q. Nacaya as the majority floor leader-coalition and Councilor Teodulfo E. Shell to inaugurate fuel import facility By Mark D. Francisco Staff member

CAGAYAN de Oro City-The P6-billion fuel import facility of the Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation in Corrales Extension this city will finally be inaugurated on July 19. Constructed since 2013, the facility is expected to accommodate petroleum imports consisting of motor gasoline, diesel and jet fuel with a total capacity of 170,000 cubic meters storage at any given time. ity (NMIF), the project is also aligned with the policy thrust of the Department of Energy (DOE) to promote investment in the energy sector. These are (1) to promote development and upgrade of the downstream infrastructure, and (2) to update the Oil Supply Contingency Plan through the establishment of oil stockpile. The project directly addresses the growing power and energy needs of the Visayas and Mindanao regions, according to a press statement released by the See import, page A7
