Telco’s high-speed broadband to pilot in Davao City DAVAO City -- A private telecommunications firm is set to launch its high-speed mobile service broadband here through fourth generation (4G) mobile phone technology and LTE (Long Term Evolution) service by the third quarter of this year. Ramon Isberto, Smart and PLDT head of public affairs said the implementation will be done by phase starting in Davao City. Isberto said the scheme will be through co-use arrangements between the PLDT and the telecom business of San Miguel Corporation (SMC) on the condition that they (Smart-PLDT) will submit a three-year network roll-out plan as basis for approving the frequency on co-use arrangement between Smart and BelTel. Ang Pilipinas ay itinuturing na “social networking capital” ng mundo dahil sa milyun-milyong mga Pilipino ang online segusegundo, minu-minuto, orasoras mula sa isang pag-aaral. Subalit kaalinsabay nito ang paglaganap ng iresponsableng digital behaviour o gawi sa paggamit ng internet. Ayon sa Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group at sa grupong Web Safety of the Philippines, patuloy ang pagtaas ng mga kaso ng cyber bullying, cyber stalking at cyber harassment. Ang mga ito ay kinapapalooban ng pagpo-post o pagpapadala ng mga imahe o text na nakapapanakit o nakapagpapahiya sa ibang tao sa pamamagitan ng social media tulad ng facebook,

twitter at instagram. Napapanahon na isulong ng mga kinauukulan ang karagdagang responsibilidad sa paggamit ng internet. Ang mga ito ay hindi lamang ang mga ahensya ng pamahalaan at pribadong sektor kundi pati na rin ang paaralan, simbahan, pamayanan at lalong higit ang tahanan. May netiquette o panuntunan sa kagandahang-asal na dapat sundin ng mga tinatawag na netizens. Ang paggamit ng internet ay hindi nagbibigay ng lisensya sa sinumang gumagamit nito na manirangpuri, magsamantala o kaya ay manloko. Totoong may kalayaan sa pamamahayag ngunit kaakibat naman nito ang pananagutan. Kaya’t ang isang netizen ay dapat na maging maingat at mapagpigil. Coping the Challenge to Pupils with Special Needs

Disability is the consequence of an impairment that may be physical, cognitive, intellectual, mental, sensory developmental or some combination of these that results in restrictions on an individual’s ability to participate in what is considered “normal” in their everyday society. Challenging behaviour can be common in children with learning or sensory disabilities. This is because communication problems can make it difficult for them to express their needs, likes

and dislikes. Challenging behaviour can take many forms, from aggression to withdrawal. When teaching to learn with special needs pupils is purely an exceptional. There are to terms to consider in teaching pupils with disabilities, accommodation and modification. Accommodation is a device, material or support process that will enable a pupil to accomplish a task more efficiently and modification refers to changes to the instructional outcomes; a change or decrease in the course content or outcome. Teaching learning disabled youngsters will present you with some unique and distinctive challenges. Not only will these pupils demand more of your time and patience; so, too, will they require specialized instructional strategies in a structured environment that supports and enhances their learning potential. It

is important to remember that learning disabled pupils are not students who are incapacitated or unable to learn; rather, they need differentiated instruction tailored to their distinctive learning abilities. Appropriate activities should be given in learning disabled pupils. Success for pupils with learning disabilities requires a focus on individual achievement, individual progress and individual learning. This requires specific, directed, individualized, intensive remedial instruction for pupils who are struggling.

SAP Digital Experience Report finds only half of consumers in the Philippines are delighted with their digital experience Nearly 50% of consumers either unsatisfied or ambivalent toward the digital offerings delivered by some of the Philippines’s largest and well-known brands PHILIPPINES – July 26, 2016 – SAP today released the results of the inaugural SAP Digital Experience Report, which revealed that only half of consumers in the Philippines (54%) are delighted with the digital experiences offered by brands in the country. 21% of respondents were unsatisfied with their digital experience, while 25% were categorized as ambivalent, giving an overall Digital Experience (DX) score of 33%. The SAP Digital Experience Report for Philippines surveyed more than 500 consumers and aggregated more than 1,200 interactions of digital engagements with local brands. In the survey, the digital experience is defined as how a brand digitally interacts with its customers during the discovery, purchase, delivery and support of a product or service. Consumers rated brands on their ability to deliver on 14 key attributes of the digital experience, ranging from functional aspects such as security and availability to more emotional aspects such as interactivity and engagement. Why the Digital Gap Matters Although slightly more consumers in the Philippines are delighted with their online engagements with brands, the survey uncovers a significant gap in performance among industries and individual brands. This gap has significant implications for business outcomes, particularly for metrics around customer loyalty and advocacy. Consumers delighted with the digital experience were over eight times more likely to stay with a brand than those who were unsatisfied. Furthermore, those delighted with the digital experience delivered a Net Promoter Score®[1] (NPS) of 73 per cent, compared to an average of -64 per cent from those who were

unsatisfied. The findings also demonstrate that delighted customers are more emotionally connected to brands, which in turn will lead to greater brand affinity. Loyal customers are also more willing to buy more from brands for a longer period of time and will not hesitate to influence others to do the same. Privacy versus Personalization The study also uncovered a strong correlation between digital-experience performance and consumers’ willingness to disclose personal information. On average, delighted consumers were nearly three times more likely to provide brands with personal data than those who were unsatisfied. For example, delighted consumers consistently showed a more trusting relationship with brands, with a higher percentage willing to share their personal finances, health records, educational level and buying preferences. With personal data a foundation for personalized digital experiences, the survey suggests that brands that delight their customers can have greater access to personal data, enabling them to further improve and tailor the digital experiences they provide. What’s Important to Consumers in the Philippines in the Digital Experience A deeper look into the data revealed that safety and security is a top priority for consumers in the Philippines, with77% of consumers rating this attribute either 9 or 10 on a scale from 0 to 10.Experiences that are available at any time to consumers are also highly favored, as are those which were timely and dedicated to meeting customer needs.

Although consumers generally ranked functional attributes as more important, those brands that performed best were also able to connect through the digital experience at an emotional level; for example, by delivering experiences that excite and engage their customersas well as those that are responsive and interactive. Doing Digital Right Among the top brands in the telecommunications sector and one of the leading five brands in the Philippines is Globe Telecom, the #1 mobile brand in the Philippines. As Southeast Asia consumers increasingly turn to online channels for their needs, safety and security remains a top concern in their digital engagement across the markets with close to 60% rating this as an important attribute of a digital experience. The ability to engage anytime and on their own terms is also rated highly at 49% followed by having a cohesive, integrated and simple experience at 46%.
