BUTUAN City -- The provincial government of Agusan del Norte now regulates the business operations of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the province with the recent approval of Provincial Ordinance No. 4262016, authored by Provincial Board Member Virgilio R. Escasiñas, Jr. The ordinance covers all refilling plants, re-fillers, haulers, dealers and retailers of LPG with business operations in the province regulating the hauling, refilling, dealing and retailing of LPG and the manufacture and repair of LPG cylinders.

Although S&R vice president for operations Greg Kreyer refused to disclose official figures yet he admitted they have reached their preset membership goal.

Telco’s high-speed broadband to pilot in Davao City DAVAO City -- A private telecommunications firm is set to launch its high-speed mobile service broadband here through fourth generation (4G) mobile phone technology and LTE (Long Term Evolution) service by the third quarter of this year.

Ramon Isberto, Smart and PLDT head of public affairs said the implementation will be done by phase starting in Davao City.

Isberto said the scheme will be through co-use arrangements between the PLDT and the telecom business of San Miguel Corporation (SMC) on the condition that they (Smart-PLDT) will submit a three-year network roll-out plan as basis for approving the frequency on co-use arrangement between Smart and BelTel. Ang Pilipinas ay itinuturing na “social networking capital” ng mundo dahil sa milyun-milyong mga Pilipino ang online segusegundo, minu-minuto, orasoras mula sa isang pag-aaral.

Subalit kaalinsabay nito ang paglaganap ng iresponsableng digital behaviour o gawi sa paggamit ng internet.

Ayon sa Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group at sa grupong Web Safety of the Philippines, patuloy ang pagtaas ng mga kaso ng cyber bullying, cyber stalking at cyber harassment. Ang mga ito ay kinapapalooban ng pagpo-post o pagpapadala ng mga imahe o text na nakapapanakit o nakapagpapahiya sa ibang tao sa pamamagitan ng social media tulad ng facebook,

twitter at instagram.

Napapanahon na isulong ng mga kinauukulan ang karagdagang responsibilidad sa paggamit ng internet. Ang mga ito ay hindi lamang ang mga ahensya ng pamahalaan at pribadong sektor kundi pati na rin ang paaralan, simbahan, pamayanan at lalong higit ang tahanan. May netiquette o panuntunan sa kagandahang-asal na dapat sundin ng mga tinatawag na netizens. Ang paggamit ng internet ay hindi nagbibigay ng lisensya sa sinumang gumagamit nito na manirangpuri, magsamantala o kaya ay manloko.

Totoong may kalayaan sa pamamahayag ngunit kaakibat naman nito ang pananagutan. Kaya’t ang isang netizen ay dapat na maging maingat at mapagpigil. Kung halimbawang may kagalit siya, hindi tama na mag-

Maging sa pagkuha ng selfie ay may mga bagay at aksyon na hindi marapat isapubliko tulad ng malalaswang pananamit at mahahalay na kilos.

This year, he said, Smart will deploy the 700 MHz by the co-use arrangement to roll out LTE in 360 cell sites in Davao, Cebu and Manila.

So far, Isberto said Smart has fired up eight 700 MHz powered sites and of this number, five of these are in Davao City, namely, Matina; in Barangay Maa

near DBP Village; along San Pedro Street near Osmena Park; the PLDT building along Ponciano Reyes St.; and at Kilometer 4, near the Davao City Gulf Club.

The three other sites are in Tanay, Rizal, in Bacoor Cavite, and at the Manggahan area in Pasig City.

Smart will also be increasing the capacity of its domestic fiber optic backbone network to carry the rapidly growing traffic.

Smart’s drive to boost data coverage and capacity across the country forms a major part of PLDT Group’s capital expenditure program.

The use of military camps is to help increase the number of residential treatment and rehabilitation facilities in all regions of the country in line with Duterte’s priority for rehabilitation of drug users.

Maj. Filemon Tan Jr., Westermin spokesman, said they welcome the program and “hopes to contribute to the President’s advocacy by assisting law enforcement agencies in effecting the rehabilitation program and aiding in the reformation of drug personalities through the inculcation of discipline and values.”

Tan said Westmincom supports all the prospective resolutions of the Commander-in-Chief in the thrust of the administration to resolve drug addiction by calling for the rehabilitation of those who have surrendered before the authorities.

The President announced in his SONA that 120,000, including 70,000 pushers, have surrendered to the government since July 1.

The police announced that a total of 20,526 drug personalities, including 939 pushers, have so far surrendered here in Region as of July 13.

The police authorities refer drug personalities to either pushers or users of prohibited drugs.

In Misamis Oriental, a senior police officer on Wednesday welcomed the declaration of President Rodrigo Duterte on the use of military facilities as drug rehabilitation centers.

The Chief Executive, during his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) Monday, made mention of the utilization of the country’s military camps as “rehabilitation centers” for drug dependent patients.

Alvarez said that 3,978 residents in these houses visited by the cops since July 1, confessed to either drug “pushing” or using.

A total of 8,606 persons in the province came forward and admitted that they were either vending or using illegal substances, he said.

Ten persons who surrendered eventually relapsed and were caught in the act by police officers selling drugs – they were immediately arrested and are now facing criminal complaints before the prosecutor’s office for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Alvarez said that for the rest of the drug dependents, they still have to stay in their respective homes since the Misamis Oriental provincial police doesn’t operate any drug rehabilitation center.

She said that reproductive health concerns will also be addressed in all the programs currently being implemented by the DSWD. “I will order that all DSWD Field Offices in the country as well as units of the DSWD that promote its different programs continue to make reproductive health concerns a part of the said programs, including the 4Ps. Maternal and infant health care will be taught in the areas where the DSWD has its programs, and we will work together with the DOH and various local government units to promote the same,” she said.

“We will maximize the 4Ps Family Development Sessions and the Parent Effectiveness Sessions as venues to discuss the benefits of the RH Law,”

Taguiwalo added.

“We want Filipino women and children to be healthier and to live longer, more productive lives. The RH law’s orientation should be geared towards improving their health conditions, not controlling the population.

Filipinos stand to benefit infinitely more from information and programs that promote self-care, good nutrition, and over-all health, rather than to limit information on contraceptives,” she said.

According to her, the implementation of its programs, the DSWD will also ensure that couples, families and young people will be given information and access to reproductive heath services so that they can make informed choices.

Coping the Challenge to Pupils with Special Needs

Disability is the consequence of an impairment that may be physical, cognitive, intellectual, mental, sensory developmental or some combination of these that results in restrictions on an individual’s ability to participate in what is considered “normal” in their everyday society.

Challenging behaviour can be common in children with learning or sensory disabilities. This is because communication problems can make it difficult for them to express their needs, likes

and dislikes. Challenging behaviour can take many forms, from aggression to withdrawal. When teaching to learn with special needs pupils is purely an exceptional. There are to terms to consider in teaching pupils with disabilities, accommodation and modification.

Accommodation is a device, material or support process that will enable a pupil to accomplish a task more efficiently and modification refers to changes to the instructional outcomes; a change or decrease in the course content or outcome.

Teaching learning disabled youngsters will present you with some unique and distinctive challenges. Not only will these pupils demand more of your time and patience; so, too, will they require specialized instructional strategies in a structured environment that supports and enhances their learning potential. It

is important to remember that learning disabled pupils are not students who are incapacitated or unable to learn; rather, they need differentiated instruction tailored to their distinctive learning abilities. Appropriate activities should be given in learning disabled pupils. Success for pupils with learning disabilities requires a focus on individual achievement, individual progress and individual learning. This requires specific, directed, individualized, intensive remedial instruction for pupils who are struggling.

SAP Digital Experience Report finds only half of consumers in the Philippines are delighted with their digital experience Nearly 50% of consumers either unsatisfied or ambivalent toward the digital offerings delivered by some of the Philippines’s largest and well-known brands PHILIPPINES – July 26, 2016 – SAP today released the results of the inaugural SAP Digital Experience Report, which revealed that only half of consumers in the Philippines (54%) are delighted with the digital experiences offered by brands in the country. 21% of respondents were unsatisfied with their digital experience, while 25% were categorized as ambivalent, giving an overall Digital Experience (DX) score of 33%.

The SAP Digital Experience Report for Philippines surveyed more than 500 consumers and aggregated more than 1,200 interactions of digital engagements with local brands. In the survey, the digital experience is defined as how a brand digitally interacts with its customers during the discovery, purchase, delivery and support of a product or service.

Consumers rated brands on their ability to deliver on 14 key attributes of the digital experience, ranging from functional aspects such as security and availability to more emotional aspects such as interactivity and engagement.

Why the Digital Gap Matters Although slightly more consumers in the Philippines are delighted with their online engagements with brands, the survey uncovers a significant gap in performance among industries and individual brands. This gap has significant implications for business outcomes, particularly for metrics around customer loyalty and advocacy.

Consumers delighted with the digital experience were over eight times more likely to stay with a brand than those who were unsatisfied.

Furthermore, those delighted with the digital experience delivered a Net Promoter Score®[1] (NPS) of 73 per cent, compared to an average of -64 per cent from those who were

unsatisfied.

The findings also demonstrate that delighted customers are more emotionally connected to brands, which in turn will lead to greater brand affinity. Loyal customers are also more willing to buy more from brands for a longer period of time and will not hesitate to influence others to do the same.

Privacy versus Personalization The study also uncovered a strong correlation between digital-experience performance and consumers’ willingness to disclose personal information.

On average, delighted consumers were nearly three times more likely to provide brands with personal data than those who were unsatisfied.

For example, delighted consumers consistently showed a more trusting relationship with brands, with a higher percentage willing to share their personal finances, health records, educational level and buying preferences.

With personal data a foundation for personalized digital experiences, the survey suggests that brands that delight their customers can have greater access to personal data, enabling them to further improve and tailor the digital experiences they provide.

What’s Important to Consumers in the Philippines in the Digital Experience A deeper look into the data revealed that safety and security is a top priority for consumers in the Philippines, with77% of consumers rating this attribute either 9 or 10 on a scale from 0 to 10.Experiences that are available at any time to consumers are also highly favored, as are those which were timely and dedicated to meeting customer needs.

Although consumers generally ranked functional attributes as more important, those brands that performed best were also able to connect through the digital experience at an emotional level; for example, by delivering experiences that excite and engage their customersas well as those that are responsive and interactive.

Doing Digital Right Among the top brands in the telecommunications sector and one of the leading five brands in the Philippines is Globe Telecom, the #1 mobile brand in the Philippines.

Security an important attribute across Southeast Asia SAP’s Digital Experience Report offers detailed insights into customers’ digital expectations and the ability of brands to meet them. Carried out across Southeast Asia, the report captures responses from across five countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia, the results reflected the preferences of over 3,600 consumers who rated more than 240 brands resulting in 9,375 digital interactions against 14 attributes.

As Southeast Asia consumers increasingly turn to online channels for their needs, safety and security remains a top concern in their digital engagement across the markets with close to 60% rating this as an important attribute of a digital experience. The ability to engage anytime and on their own terms is also rated highly at 49% followed by having a cohesive, integrated and simple experience at 46%.

Across countries in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, less than half (47%) were delighted

Importantly, delighted consumers are over 9 times more likely to remain loyal than those who are unsatisfied and deliver an NPS of 70% compared to -67% from those who are unsatisfied.
