News that even barangays have enjoyed assorted hard infrastructure projects such as road concreting, water system, multi-purpose building, construction of gyms. The governor said the projects are being implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)––and are worth P800 million for the first district and P990 million for the second district; and another project worth P280 million. Adiong, during the gathering,

For his part, Macasero told Mindanao Daily News that his group is dealing with three kinds of conflict in Lanao del Sur as part of the Armed Forces of the Philippines normalization process. Macasero cited some of the crimes that his team are dealing
with such as rido, kidnapping, gun running, and drug trafficking. “We challenged those victims to file a case so that there was a move of action in legal moves, and the Rido, we recommended to massive in information drive to household member to report us so that we that we take action immediately and we enter barangay consultative dialogs together with the barangay chairman and local government unit (LGU) in promoting peace,” said Macasero.

DOH allots P63m for Surallah annex of Socot provl hospital GENERAL Santos City–– The Department of Health (DOH) is investing an additional P63 million this year to facilitate the expansion and development of the South Cotabato provincial hospital annex in Surallah town into a regional medical center. Health Secretary Enrique Ona said Friday such funding will cover for the necessary improvements and the acquisition of the initial equipment for the hospital, which is slated to open before the end of the year. “More funds will come in later on as we continue with its development as a regional center of health care
in this part of the country,” he said. O na l e d on Fr i d ay morning the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with South Cotabato officials for the takeover by the DOH of the hospital’s operations. The MOA signing was made during the culmination program of South Cotabato’s 15th T’nalak Festival and 48th foundation anniversary held at the provincial sports complex in Koronadal City. Abu Sayyaf bandits seize 3 DSWD workers in Sulu
ZAMBONGA City––Gunmen suspected to be Abu Sayyaf bandits abducted Thursday three government workers in the province of Sulu, a police official said. Senior Supt. Abraham Orbita, Sulu police director, said the victims are workers
of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) but withheld their identities upon request of the families. Orbita said they were seized around 2 p.m. Thursday in Barangay Upper Sinumaan, Talipao town.
He said the victims were conducting a survey for the DSWD’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program when the bandits seized them. He said policemen in coordination with the military were deployed to track down the whereabouts of
the victims. The official said the bandits have not contacted yet the victims’ families. The Abu Sayyaf bandits are still holding captive kidnap victims, some of whom are believed to be foreigners. (MindaNews)
