Tissue culture in coffee

DO you appreciate the richness in taste and aroma of coffee? Do you know that the Philippines is also exporting coffee?

However, Filipino coffee growers/farmers deal with challenges. Among these include diseases in coffee (such as leaf rust, stem borer, nematodes, coffee berry disease), pests, unproductive trees, poor technology utilization, and low market prices.

Ac c ordi ng to t he Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD), an attached agency of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), tissue culture could help address these challenges as this could bring rapid production of quality planting materials.

With this, PCAARRD has funded the “Enhancement of Micropropagation techniques to meet the demand for quality planting materials” project.

Recognizing that tissue culture could fast track the mass propagation of coffee, especially when planting materials are limited in conventional vegetative propagation, the Cavite State University (CvSU) has adopted the

Aquino to grace opening of Aboitiz-owned coal-fired power plant

DAVAO City -- President Benigno Aquino III will grace the inauguration of the coal-fed 300 megawatt Therma South Energ y Project in Toril, Davao City on Friday.

Therma South Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Aboitiz Power, has just completed the construction of the 300 MW twounit power project which started in 2012.

The first 150-MW unit started commercial operation in September 2015.

The power firm infused some P25 billion for this project and, at its peak, employed over 4,500 workers, mostly from its host communities.

Out of the 300 MW, at least 100 MW has been contracted to Davao Light and Power Company, another Aboitiz subsidiary, which has an average daily demand of 340 MW. The power plant will supply power to the cities

of Davao, Cagayan de Oro, General Santos, Butuan, Kidapawan, Cotabato and Tagum, and the provinces of Davao region, Caraga region, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, parts of Bukidnon, parts of Misamis and parts of Zamboanga peninsula.

Since the 2012 power crisis, power companies have been encouraged to invest in Mindanao, but stakeholders said the island should achieve a 50-50 balance in power mix between hydro and fuel sources.

During a forum on power outlook for Mindanao last month, Noriel Christopher Reyes, science research specialist II at the Department of Energy’s Electric Power Industr y Management Bureau, said four units of coal-fired power plants with a combined capacity of 550 megawatts will open by first half of 2016.

Davao City to continue hosting national events DAVAO City -- Davao City will remain a premiere destination for the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Events or Exhibitions (MICE), an official of the Department of Tourism Region 11 said.

In a text message on Tuesday, DOT 11 director Roberto Alabado III said the city had played host to several major national events in 2014, which placed the city in the event organizers’ radar.

“This continued exposure will continue well into 2016 as the Davao Mice Consortium, composed of the private sector, local government unit, DOT will actively promote Davao as the preferred MICE destination,” he said.

He added they are looking at the major Philippines cities and Singapore to hold events in the city.

On Dec. 17 last year, budget airline Cebu Pacific started servicing the DavaoSingapore route with two flights per week.

Alabado was looking at an increase in the number of Singaporean tourists after the inauguration as the tour operators have come up with tour packages, bannering the region’s fresh destinations.

From January to September 2015, the region recorded 1,874,587 tourists, up by 4.10 percent compared to 1,800,726 tourists for the same period in 2014.

The city’s MICE market has been booming since the opening of SMX Convention

Center in 2012 and hotels.

The latest addition will be the eight-storey Go Hotels Davao, which is set to open next month, bringing the total rooms of the city’s accommodation facilities to around 8,000.

This was announced by Ivan Chin Cortez, Davao City Investment Promotion Center officer-in-charge during Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM City on Monday, who said the latest hotel has 183 rooms.

“The project aims to provide ‘a place for every Juan’.

The board unanimously approved the project for local incentives owing to the growing need for more accommodation options in the city,” he said in a separate statement.

Go Hotels Davao, located in Lanang, is a joint project of Robinsons Land and Davao-based Udenna Development Corp., the holding company of Phoenix Petroleum.

The budget hotel accounted for the biggest investment in the city last year with P576 million project cost infused as of Nov. 18, 2015.

Robinsons Land has 10 Go Hotels across the country.

In the case of Moreno, the CA granted a TRO to “temporarily prohibits” the execution of the dismissal order of the graft court against Moreno and his City Treasurer, which supposedly become final and executory last November 12, 2015.

The argument that the Ombudsman order was “not final and executory” on the ground that the graft court has yet to decide on the Motion for Reconsideration was another legal ploy. The Ombudsman is not obliged to reply or decide on the merits of the Motion for Reconsideration, unless there are new evidences that would compel the graft court to reverse its earlier decision.

In the case of Moreno, the embattled city executive’s argument that his counteraffidavit was not “read” or “heard” by the Ombudsman is not enough ground that he could influence the reversal of the Ombudsman decision. Moreno described

What the West Gets Wrong

moment the world became a globalized society–since the end of the First World War. How so? MENA is extremely diverse, with plenty of tribes and languages; it is rich in oil, and the peoples are extremely religious. It is no surprise that it is dominated by sectarian conflict.

As Western values and belief systems permeated the mindsets of many peoples (thank you, globalization) throughout the years, the pressure for reform only grew. How would you feel if your country was under a dictator and all your people were poor and threatened by the government while you watched Western democratic countries flourish?

There is much to be said about the Russian president’s foreign policies. As much as I loathe Putin’s real politik and his psyche that is authoritarian to the core of his presuppositions, I cannot deny that there is some truth to his perception of the world. I do not agree with his foreign policies, absolutely not.

However, in his analysis of the West’s foreign policies, he is right to judge that it is faulty.

The West, in its idealism, in its mission to reform the world system by turning it into a capitalist, democratic international society, is extremely shortsighted.

While I do not want to admit it, there is truth to the many radical claims out there. The chaos in the Middle East is partially caused by the West’s intended reforms that fell through, which includes intangible ramifications to the socio-political sentiment of the country or region.

Nevertheless, it needs to be said that the West is not solely at fault.

So what was the breaking point? What made them snap? The death of Mohamed Bouazizi, a street vendor in Sidi Bouzid, Tunisia. The beginning of the Arab Spring. When Tunisians said they’ve had enough.

Soon this movement for reform spread throughout neighboring countries, undergoing similar conditions.

What did the West do amid all of this? The West is a huge advocate for democratic reform. At this time, the Coalition had already established a democratic government in Afghanistan and Iraq. So of course, the West supported it, in more ways than one. This was most evident in Libya and the overthrow of Gadaffi.

While there is nothing wrong with supporting such reforms, as I still do very much agree that they definitely needed to happen, it becomes a major problem when one’s commitment to support such massive reforms in a young democratic country is shortsighted.

WE are facing a national election this year and it is going to happen in May. Right now there are commotions anywhere more particularly from political headquarters, groups of people and elsewhere. We know already the candidates for the presidency, for the senate and others including the local aspirants. The media are busy with daily press releases, announcements and the like and people are even confused about the noise created by the forthcoming polls. Some candidates have already started their campaign, even if it was against the law. As early as this moment, we are already aware of the people who opened their mouth too wide about themselves.

I urge these candidates to change their style of campaign. It is so monotonous, ugly and irritating to the ears hearing the same old outdated songs that belong to the old years when coconut trees were young. They should read newspapers to be able to adjust to the modern trend and the latest in situation especially the local. There are rules in the campaign, which everyone ignores. And because everybody is violating such ordinances, they become useless and it is the law of the animals that is observed.

Most of the candidates have already spoken about the poor people in the countryside and their plans to improve their lifestyles.

This is absolutely out of tune already and only manifest how the poor are being ridiculed, manipulated, and/ or humiliated and used as political tools. Others have spoken already of giving free medical and dental services plus medicines - - also a worn out promise made half a century ago. These are promises that failed and without meaning anymore to the electorates.

A Teacher to be

Every teacher has his own way or style in teaching.

As a teacher, I teach young children using differentiated instruction just to cater the learning needs of the learners. Inside the classroom, I value time management, discipline and cleanliness.

Time Management- I see to it that in as much as possible to do the daily routine whenever class starts. I will have to start with a prayer, observe classroom management and attendance. Discipline- I see it a value that everybody must have. Both teacher and students should respect each other inside the classroom especially when somebody is talking, one must listen. Also, I always build a good rap-

port to my students, instil them fear of God and act professionally with finesse.

Cleanliness is a virtue in which I want my students to have in themselves. I want to maintain a clean environment as well as to provide them a classroom conducive to learning.

A teacher inside the class should see to it to be productive, give humour to students in good way and switch or used the appropriate method to attain learning success. Let us remember, apart from the instructional materials, the teacher himself is one of the soul sources of genuine information’s regardless where and whom he is teaching.

I am socratic, humour and authoritative teacher.

Zambo City sets water rationing as supply dwindles

ZAMBOANGA City -- The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) is scheduled to imposed 11-hour rationing as this city’s water level at source dropped lower than the normal elevation.

The ZCWD bulletin disclosed the water rationing is effective 6 a.m. of Friday, Jan. 8.

Eng’r. Efren Salvacion, ZCWD maintenance department manager, disclosed the water level at the diversion dam stood at 74.10 meters as of Mon-

day. The normal level is at 74.20 meters.

Sa lvacion s aid t he water elevation dropped below normal since this city has not had any major rainfall the past few months.

The ZCWD gets 80 percent of its water sup-

ply from surface water through the Tumaga River, making it vulnerable to the elements such as the extreme hot conditions currently experienced in this city.

The ZCWD also operates 21 underground production wells to augment its water supply.

Salvacion said they had divided the ZCWD distribution lines into three areas to be able to provide water for 11 hours daily to its more than 57,000 active concessionaires.

The water rationing schedule are as follows: east coast area, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.; central area, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and, west coast area, 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.

ICT resources enabled the pupils to communicate, and so motivated them to a great extent. The used of laptops, DLP, excerpts video stories and reading lessons from internet was also having impacts, because it offers the ability for pupils to move things around on the board and it enables specific disabilities to be addressed in specific ways.

Based on the interview from pupils, they found it boring to read in long selection. They could easily forget the details of what they read especially when they can’t look at selection again. In their house they didn’t had any reading materials and no time to browse because of household chores. Some says find it tiresome to see printed texts. In class when teacher used DLP in presenting the lesson, they really like and it seemed they could easily remember the details.

When follow up questions given to them, they could answer based on what they remembered. Time is not enough because sometimes our teacher had many interruptions of other school works.

To have fair treatment with pupils, one can develop a whole some personality and strength the good relationship being established with them.

By using ICT resources in Teaching Reading with the Reading Instructional devices, the presentation of the lessons the pupils attention can be easily caught and deliver the lesson every well.

The reading innovation “E-RAG or Electronic Read & Grow” helped the learners who had problem in reading comprehension particularly in literal where simple questions asked if they comprehend what read or heard. In using ICT from the stories or video presentations we got from internet, we used them to our pupils in during remedial period. They could read the text on screen with fun and interest to listen well for them to answer the questions. These could help them grow in a way that there reading level be improved. Different strategies and styles were used to make happy reading and fun to learn many things that made them grow as they tackled many activities during the session. The ICT coordinator monitored the pupils’ development in our school how far they have learned with the use of electronic gadget and resources coming from various sources. These made a great impact of improvements in our pupils in the reading recognition and comprehension skill.

Cagayan de Oro City -- A new batch of farmers graduated in another episode of the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10)’s School-on-theAir (SOA) program on Mushroom Production and Value-Adding after two months of modular discussion over radio station dXRU-Radio Ultra.

25 fishermen from Surigao jailed in Indonesia Josselyn Mantilla, of Barangay Sabang, said Tuesday that 15 of the 25 are her constituents. The remaining 10 are from Barangay San Juan, said barangay chairman Monina Caluna.

Mantilla said the fishermen, all aboard MB RGJ Fishing, left Surigao on Nov. 25.

The boat’s operator, listed by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA)-Caraga as Gemma V. Navarro of Barangay Togbongon here, reportedly has no permit to fish in Indonesian waters.

Mantilla said she was informed of the fishermen’s condition by the wives, who sought any help they could get to sustain their daily needs.

She said the fishermen were caught Dec. 7 by patrolling coast guards off Indonesia. Authorities reportedly detained the fishermen, who also lacked travel documents, in Sorong City of West Papua province.

The fishermen, who are now detained at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries in Sorong, are Rodrigo T. Puno, captain of the boat; Jarewel R. Perjesa, machinist; and crew members Cristobal T. SURIGAO City -- Twenty-five fishermen from this city are now languishing in jail in Indonesia due to illegal fishing, according to two barangay chairmen.

Before this Court verified joint petition for the approval and registration of the Divorce filed by the petitioners and alleging among others.

That petitioners are husband and wife respectively in a marriage performed under Civil rites on November 28, 2009 at Iligan City, they converted to Islam faith, of which conversions to Islam were duly registered with this court, both of them can be served with summons and other legal processes relative to this case at their residents at Zone-3 Bagong Silang Iligan City and Tambacan, Iligan City respectively;

That said marriage did not last long due to inability of petitioners to perform their respective essential marital obligations such as mutual fidelity, love, respect, support for each other, and irreconcilable differences, the petitioners only lived together for five (5) years and they decided to part ways and still separated at the present, thereby, they executed Divorce Agreement in order to formalize their separation.

Since their separation they had never been communicating or supporting either financially or emotionally to each other,neither minding each other affair’s; Petitioner’s seek judicial decree of divorce, thereby, surviving their marriage bond on November 28, 2009 , so that they will have free hand to do what a single man or woman could do without marital burdens. Reconciliation between them had already been diligently employed but all proved futile.

WHEREFORE, finding this petition to be sufficient in form and substance, set the initial hearing of this case on January 29, 2016 at 9:00 a.m at which time, date and place. Any interested party may appear and show why the petition should not be granted. Let copy of this Order be published in a news paper of General Circulation in the City of Iligan once a week for three (3) consecutive weeks at the expense of the petitioners.

CAGAYAN de Oro City-The 3rd Kuyamis Festival officially open to celebrate the 86th founding anniversary of the province of Misamis Oriental held at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, on January 4 until 9.

The Kuyamis Festival has been launched three years ago, which served as a venue in promoting various products made from Kuyamis. This celebration also a way to boost Tourism Industry that includes the showcasing of handicraft

items and Filipino specialty prepared by the different municipalities of Misamis Oriental.

Kuyamis is a type of coconut which believed to where Misamis derived its name. It also contributed to the livelihood of the province, hence making the province ranked as 5 over the top 10 major coconut producers nationwide.

Governor Yevgeny Vincent B. Emano led the ribbon cutting together with some local officials and guests, which signaled the

beginning of the Kuyamis Festival celebration. Prior to the opening was a Holy Mass.

Activities for the weeklong event were lined up comprising of Kuyamis coconut tree planting, meat and livestock show, food fair, visual arts, and cultural shows which will be presented by the different municipalities in Misamis Oriental and a two-day conduct of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Negosyo services which aim to create more job op-

portunities.

Further, the introduction of the 12 aspiring candidates of Miss Earth Philippines – Misamis Oriental also took place in the opening.

The crowned Miss Kuyamis Festival 2016 will have the chance to represent the province in the annual search of Miss Earth in the national competition. The coronation night will be on January 9 at Provincial Capitol grounds.

Different booths by the eight municipalities including Manticao, Medina, Naawan,

Initao, Jasaan, Talisayan, Balingoan and Laguindingan and other participants were set at Capitol Grounds bearing each owned goods that highlights Kuyamis products.

A tableau/festival dance competition was also done during the opening ceremony which was participated by three municipalities.

Talisayan gained the victory being the champion followed by Medina as 2nd placer and Laguindingan got the 3rd place. (Mariel B. Urdaneta/PIA10)

K-12 Basic Education Program is not new to us.

This program has been long implemented by other countries. In Philippines, Department of Education welcome the new program through pilot implementation on selected schools

and eventually, nationwide implementation.

What is K-12 program?

K-12 is a shorten term; K stands for kindergarten and 12 is for 12 years of basic education. This couple of years of education has four key stages, which include kindergarten, six years in primary education, four years of Junior High School, and two years of Senior High

School.

Department of Education believes that the implementation of 12 years in basic education is the best length of period to learn. In 12 years of basic education, students will be nurture more with learnings and insights and will provide enough time for mastery of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and prepare graduates for tertiary education, middle-level skills

development, employment, and entrepreneurship.

Before a student will enter college, undergoing K-12 program will help students be more prepared. Since some of the subjects in college curriculum is already taken while attending basic education.

Thus, those subjects will be no longer taken up by the students, resulting to fewer units for colleges. Moreover, students, like ones enrolled in Senior High School, can

avail some specialization that could be their guide in employment or in college education. Through K-12 program, students will not just gain theories, but also trainings and application.

K to 12 is a program that endeavors best training and learning for Filipino children. It also aims to produce competitive and high quality graduates that could perform in global arena.

Facelift of crater-lake next week

GENERAL Santos City--The municipal government of T‘boli in South Cotabato will close down anew the famed crater-lake Holon to visitors starting next week to pave the way for the rehabilitation of the prime tourist destination.

T’boli Mayor Dibu Tuan issued on Monday a temporary closure order for the entire 304-hectare lake and portions of Mt. Melebingoy effective Jan. 11 until March 5 or a total of 55 days.

The closure is the second for the lake since it was initially declared off-limits to visitors for nine months starting June 2014 to March 2015.

The mayor said the move will allow the lake to recuperate after hosting more than 700 visitors during the Christmas season.

“The local government of T’boli will rehabilitate some physical structures at the site and construct additional comfort rooms,” he cited in his order.

Tuan directed Rodel Hilado, head of the town’s community-based economic tourism unit, to spearhead the implementation of the closure order.

He said the shutdown will cover the three main three main entry points to the lake in Barangay T’bolok and Sitios Kule and Nabul in Barangay Salacafe.

In line with the lake’s closure, Tuan said the municipal government will focus on the training of more tourist drivers, tourist guides, porters, horse drivers and other local tourism frontliners.

The town’s tourism unit will also work on the accreditation of additional tourism destinations within the municipality, he said.

The lake’s initial closure in 2014 was implemented by the local government to ensure the proper implementation of the comprehensive rehabilitation and development program of the ecotourism site.

The provincial government of South Cotabato had released some P5 million for the construction of cottages, view decks and other facilities at the lake.

Lake Holon, formerly known as Maughan, is nestled at Mt. Melebingoy (Mt. Parker), which is listed as an active volcano.

The lake is a declared protected area endowed with rich flora and fauna, as well as wild animals.

Bringing smiles, casting hopes

Capping the year 2015, FDC Misamis Power Corporation (FDC Misamis) held a simple yet meaningful gift-giving activity at Kimaya Elementary School (KES) in Villanueva town last December.

KES, about 24 kilometers from the town’s poblacion, is the farthest school in Villanueva District.

Dubbed as “My Little Bag of Hope” project, the activity is aimed at bringing smiles as well as hopes among 138 pupils belonging to the underprivileged members of the Higaonon tribe in the said barangay during the Holiday Season.

Aside from gift-giving, FDC Misamis also brought with them a magical show and balloon twisting clown that wowed the young and old audiences. Parlor games participated in by FDC Misamis employee-volunteers with the selected pupils and parents enlivened the party.

“That’s because we care about you…we care about our communities,” Fritzie Joyce Gacutan, FDCUI Corporate Communications manager, told the crowd also composed of teachers and parents.

Added Gacutan: “Our employees have personally contributed to give you these gifts but the very message we want to share is not about the bags of gifts but for you to always be reminded why we are celebrating this Season of Giving and to always cast hopes amidst the challenges you have or you may encounter.”

“Thanks for thinking about us. Thanks for really remembering us,” stressed Jocelyn Caronia, teacherin-charge of KES. She said, “As far as I can recall since 1995, this was the first time that a private company held such gift-giving plus a magic show that truly brought laughter and smiles among our pupils.”

“This is great! This is the first time! This is one-ofa-kind!” declared Caronia.

Kimaya village chief Celso Yagma also expressed happiness with the activity.

“I can’t help but to say thank you to FDC Misamis for making our kids and their parents not just happy but overflowing with joy this Christmas. And I am also happy seeing my constituents joyous and cheerful.”

“For my 13 years of stay here in Kimaya, this is the first time that I have witnessed this wonderful event.

Our kids really enjoyed it so much,” said MaricelUbalUbal, 32, and mother of four.

Ubal-Ubal is hoping that the activity gets repeated next year or that it becomes an annual event in their barangay.

“Bib og yud kaayo ang magic show. Pero masbibo pa gyud kay nakadawatakongmgaanakugregalogikan FDC Misamis (The magic show was very exciting. But what is more exciting is that my children got to receive gifts from FDC Misamis.),” she added.

And for newly-employed-turned-volunteer Oscar Aspiras, Jr., joining such activity was truly exciting and fulfilling.

“Seeing children smiling and happy is one great

experience in this life that I’ll cherish forever.”

Aspiras, who just started working with FDC Misamis on December 1, 2015, hoped to experience more worthy causes especially when the power firm starts its operations this year.

FDC Misamis, a subsidiary of FDC Utilities, Inc. (FDCUI), is building the biggest power project in Northern Mindanao, a 405MW Circulating Fluidized Bed coal thermal plant at the Phividec Industrial Estate in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental. The FDC Misamis power plant will utilize state-of-the-art clean fuel technology and is expected to start commercial operations this 2016.*

According to Wikipedia, somatic embryogenesis is a process where a plant or embryo is derived from a single somatic cell or group of somatic cells. It added that somatic embryos are formed from plant cells that are not normally involved in the development of embryos (e.g. ordinary plant tissue).

PCAARRD explained that somatic embryogenesis plant propagation technique is efficient, rapid, and thus, can improve Coffee Arabica and Liberica varieties’ productivity.

These two coffee varieties were chosen due to their superior bean yield, and bean quality. PCAARRD also cited that Liberica variety is resistant to common insects, pests, and diseases.

CvSU, Benguet State University (BSU), Central Philippines State University (CPSU), and Central Mindanao University were identified as cooperating agencies. Moreover, these universities will also represent Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The agency said the methods of propagating coffee in the country were stem cuttings and the use of seeds. It noted that buds, grafts, and cuttings must be sourced from vertically growing shoots such as the primary fruiting plagiotropic branches or branches growing at an almost horizontal angle to maintain the uniformity in the population of coffee plants.

In its project, PCAARRD has involved the development and optimization of the different stages of somatic embryogenesis: callus induction phase, differentiation phase and embryo development, plantlet regeneration phase, rooting and acclimatization phase.

CvSU targets production of 600,000 coffee seedlings in three years, and hopes to sustain these to support the livelihood of coffee farmers.

The university also aims to stabilize coffee prices.

According to PCAARRD, beneficiaries of this project include coffee farmers, coffee producers, cooperatives, associations, coffee researchers and extension workers, coffee consumers, entrepreneurs, and industries or processing companies.

Promoting somatic embryogenesis in coffee is one of the agency’s initiatives to provide science-based know-how and tools to enable the agricultural sector raise productivity to worldclass standards. (PNA)

Mangudadatu said police and military authorities have designed security measures but it is still best for the local leaders, down to the barangay, to have its own defense plan.

“We all know that the police and the military could not be in all places at all times, so the local officials are expected to protect their own people,” Mangudadatu said.

More police and military checkpoints have been established in areas considered conflict zone. These are the adjoining towns of Shariff Aguak, Mamasapano, Datu Piang, Datu Salibo, Shariff Saydona and Sultan sa Barongis, areas where the BIFF operate.

When the West leaves too soon, the young democracy is weakened, as its wobbly legs do not know yet how to walk or withstand any threats to its stability. We witnessed that in Iraq, and how easily ISIS ravaged and took over strategic locations.

So I think Putin is somewhat correct in saying that the West is partially responsible for how MENA is now.

Many of the West’s support have not been properly controlled nor monitored that it has been taken advantage of.

Some of it has spilled over, causing conflict to spread into such an unimaginable scale and intensity.

Is Putin correct in placing all the blame on the West, however? Absolutely not. It is too much of stupidity and giving of false hopes to the people. The ugly result of this foolishness is a lot of people join the armed rebels in the hills.

Pushing them to the wall would surely backfire and naturally worsen the situation. This method is cheating, pure and simple. We should know the electorates are not young children who will listen for nothing.

Let us be honest and frank to the electorates especially on issues they expect. Politics have never improved the lives of the poor in the countryside.

It is always the poor who are losers in any political activities, I do not have to mention the name of public officials who made extravagant or luxury in pledges that actually end up in thin air. And because of these never-ending promises, some voters chose to sell their votes because just the same nothing can come about the election process.

Vote-buying has already been part of our behavior during election season.

I suggest to the candidates to give little honor and dignity to our electoral process and avoid making it dirtier and uglier to the eyes of everyone.
