Francisco appointed as Special Advisor to PEZA Vows to develop untapped investments, generate high-paying jobs FINALLY, something for Cagayan de Oro City. On December 27, 2016, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte appointed a staunch supporter, Elmer Bautista Francisco, as Special Advisor to the Director General of PEZA for North America and Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN). He took his oath on January 18, 2017, before Director General Charito “Ching” Plaza of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) in her office at Building 5, DOEPNOC Complex, Energy Center, 34th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila. Mr. Francisco is a native of Las Piñas City and a scion of the Francisco Clan who created the world famous Francisco Passenger Jeepney since 1947, Anfra AUVs and the bomb proof Pope Mobile used by then Pope John Paul II who is now a Saint. In 2002, Francisco married a native Kagay-anon in the person of Ms. Michelle Cabrera-Francisco. Since then, he embraced Cagayan de Oro City and called it home, being a Kagay-anon by marriage. Francis co is a Past Trustee and a hall of fame awardee of the Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. or simply, ORO CHAMBER. A1 Contractors urged to renew PCAB licenses DAVAO CITY – The Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) has called on contractors to renew their licenses soonest to avoid rush, delay and penalties. Starting the first day of February, PCAB, an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), shall be accepting renewal applications for fiscal year 2017-2018. To avoid the rush and delay in the filing/processing of renewal application, contractors holding licenses ending in 0-1 must already file by February; 2-3 by March; 4-5 by April; 6-7 by May; and 8-9 by June, including new applications approved from January to June this year. PCAB will strictly enforce the schedule of renewal of licenses among contractors. Failure to file renewal applications within the designated months shall be assessed the payment of P5,000. Additional Processing Fee (APF) plus P5,000 Additional License Fee (ALF) will be collected if the renewal application is filed after June 30 this year. KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato -- Every third Friday of January each year people in South Cotabato are gathering to seek divine intervention for concerns that the province is facing. Gov. Daisy Avance-Fuentes announced in a recent
press conference that she has signed Executive Province Order No. 3 series of 2017 declaring every third Friday of January each year as the Provincial Prayer Day. Dubbed as “Pangamuyo 2017” the first provincewide prayer gathering will

THE Philippine Coconut Authority has temporarily suspended the issuance of permits on cutting of coconut trees in line with the moratorium which is now in effect across the country. The moratorium on cutting of coconut trees was signed by PCA Ad-
