SAN Francisco, Agusan del Sur-The flashfloods that caused massive displacement among thousands of residents in this province has already claimed three lives.
A report from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office said the drowned dead body of Archie Jayoma,22, from Afga village in Sibagat town was recovered in Nasipit town in Agusan del Norte on Saturday. His remains was identified by his sister Teresita Flores.

Village chieftain Vangie Salinas of Ladgadan village of this town reported his nephew Jeppy Carles, 22, drowned to death when he tried to swim on the river where floodwaters was rampaging. Another casualty was Guillermo Hilarion who drowned to death while tending his farm in

SURIGAO City––Six towns in the two Agusan provinces have been placed under a state of calamity due to massive flooding. The Office of Civil Defense in Caraga, in a report posted on its Facebook page on Sunday afternoon said the towns under a state of calamity are La Paz, Loreto, Esperanza and San Luis in Agusan del Sur and the towns of Jabonga and Las Aerial view. MAKILALA, North Cotabato--A New People’s Army rebel was killed and five others were hurt in a clash between them and government forces over the weekend in a communist-infiltrated village here, police and the military said. Wednesday. The poll body reported that they have received a total of 490,892 applications in satellite registration centers nationwide for the period of more than two
months since the registration started. “A total of 490,892 applications for registration have been received for a period of nine weeks, from November 2016 to January
2017, during the ongoing satellite registration of voters nationwide,” the Comelec said in a statement. Data revealed that a total of 81,318 applications have been received from regular
registrants; while another 72,745 applications are for the SK. Aside from voter registration, the Comelec also received applications for transfer, reactivation, cor-
