DAVAO CITY -- President Rodrigo Duterte has vowed to give particular attention directed towards the development of Brunei Darussalam-IndonesiaMalaysia- Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) and that talks will be facilitated by the Philippines this year. Duterte issued the statement as he led the launching last Sunday, January 15, 2017, of the country’s chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), even as he called

on Filipinos to help for the successful hosting of the annual summit. The Philippines’ chairmanship will be guided by six thematic priorities spearheaded by the Philippines including people-centered initiatives, ensuring regional peace and stability, pursuing maritime security and cooperation, advancing inclusive, innovation-led growth, strengthening ASEAN resiliency, and promoting ASEAN as a model of regionalism and as a global player.

Region 11 investments hit almost P8B as of 2016 3Q

DAVAO CITY – Investments in Davao Region reached P7.684 billion as of third quarter of 2016, records from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) 11 showed. The third quarter investments in 2016 already surpassed by 38.7 percent the entire 2015 record of P4.708 billion.
