The center and the task group will be tasked to monitor the safety, security and welfare not only of the delegates, visitors and guests but most importantly, the citizens of Davao City. DSWD 11 turns over 15 Kalahi–CIDSS projects

GENERAL SANTOS CITY -- The municipal government of Lake Sebu in South Cotabato is planning to declare the area under the state of calamity due to another major fish kill that already destroyed around PHP6.5 million worth of tilapia. Zaldy Artacho, Lake Sebu municipal agriculture officer, said Tuesday the ongoing fish kill started late last week in portions of the lake after its dissolved oxygen dropped to critical levels anew.

He said the phenomenon, known locally as “kamahong,” came after almost a week of sporadic heavy rains in the area. The official said several fish cage operators initially reported on Friday afternoon that some of their tilapia appeared gasping for air. “By night time, the fish kills already started in a number of fish cages,” he said in a radio interview. DAVAO CITY -- The Task Group (TG) Davao led by Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 will re-activate the Multi-Agency Coordinating Center (MACC) for the series of ASEAN Ministers’ and Senior Officials’ meetings which is being held in Davao City from January 31, 2017, up to February 22, 2017. These events are reflected in the Philippine Chairmanship of ASEAN 2017 National Calendar of Meetings and Events.

MACC resumes on January 30 to monitor the safety, security and welfare not only of the delegates, visitors and guests, but most importantly, the Davaoenos. The TG Davao Secretariat already conducted headcount and briefing to the personnel of PRO11, who are deployed starting Monday to their respective areas of responsibility. Almost 1,500 security personnel including members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP),

other government agencies, Explosive Ordnance Division (EOD), K9 units and Road Discipline Teams will be employed to maintain peace and order. “The PRO11 continuously asks for the public’s support, cooperation and vigilance for the success and uninterrupted conduct of ASEAN Leaders Summits, Ministerial Meetings and other ASEAN collateral activities in the region,” PRO 11 spokesperson Sr.
