Sultan Camamara III chosen new Prime Sultan of Region XI KAGAN Sultan Abdul Mawla Camamara III of Davao City was chosen, through a consensus by reigning sultans in Davao Region, as the Prime Sultan (equivalent to king or president) of the Sultanate of Region XI. The other sultans reigning in the provinces of Region XI were present during the historic selection process held on Saturday, at Grand Menseng Hotel, Davao City. Notable and regally prominent were Sultan Comara Manuel, Sultan Baser Bago-Dawami and Sultan Racman Maug. Eco overdrive to create enough jobs
DAVAO CITY -- With the Philippines “nearing its demographic sweet spot,” the government needs to sustain its economic overdrive to create enough jobs for the ever-increasing ranks of young Filipinos joining the work force, Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III said. Dominguez said under the Duterte administration, the government is spending big not only on infrastructure and social protection for the poorest families, but also on education, health and skills training in order to prime the country’s youth for the challenges of a globally competitive job environment. Davao-GenSan-Bitung service ready for launch
AGRICULTURAL products will be among the first batches of cargoes to be transported on the new shipping route to be launched in April between the Philippines and Indonesia. Identified by the private sector in Mindanao for initial shipping to Indonesia include animal feeds, fertilizers, construction materials, ice cream, poultry (halal), fresh fruits, and synthetics, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said in a statement. The list of goods to be imported from Indonesia, on the other hand, include matured coconut, copra, corn, feed ingredients, lumber, cement, high-value crops, vegetables, meat, peanuts, aqua products, charcoal, soya, coffee beans, and sugar. A roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) ferry service will begin plying the Davao City-General Santos-Bitung (Indonesia) route on April 28, 2017.
