Johndorf reports fast take up at Montierra Montierra - main gate

ABOUT a third of the 600 townhouses planned at Montierra in the highlands of Cagayan de Oro City have been sold out, reported its developer Johndorf Ventures Corp. (JVC). “We are overwhelmed by the takes in Montierra mostly from rising professionals and emerging entrepreneurs,” said Michele Chiu-Bacungan, sales and marketing manager of the company. Most of the new homeowners work as supervisors

and young managers in companies operating in northern Mindanao, while the rest run their trade in and from the city, she disclosed. Bacungan also noted that some are professionals working abroad, mostly in nearby Asian counties and some in the Middle East, who can afford homes priced between P2.8 million to P3 million. “ They are relatively young who have already reaped successes in their fields,” she remarked.

She said it is pleasing for them to note that the young generation now already invests in residential properties, even when they have yet to get married, than in depreciating properties. The sale of at least 150 townhouse units come from blocks one, two and three at phase one of the 7.5-hectare property, disclosed Angel Valdivia, the assistant marketing manager. “We can already turnover the first townhomes by the first quarter of 2017,” she disclosed. Asian theme Montierra is a subdivision of Asian-themed townhouses for economic to middle-class families. It is located in Panginuman, Upper Balulang near what was Lumbia airport, a few meters ahead from Rosevale School, and near SM City and Xavier University. Launch last summer, it has attracted many Cagayanons and those from elsewhere in Mindanao and in See reports, page B3

Allow God to hold you The Gospel of Jesus Christ (December6, 2016-Tuesday) Matthew 18:12-14-How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and went into the mountains, and seek that which is gone astray? And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiced more of that [sheep], than of the ninety

and nine which went not astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish: The love of God is immeasurable and endless. Your unworthiness deserves the love of God. His love fits to your real status in life. His love can make you worthy and can qualify you to be in heaven after this

life. This gospel reminds us about the big love of God to each one of us. In Ezekiel 18:23-have I any “pleasure” at all that the wicked should die? Said the Lord GOD: [and] not that he should return from his ways, and live? Take note, feast will be done in heaven if one soul is repented. Are you a lost sheep? See the goodness of God for you because he will celebrate if you

will come back to him. You are very valuable to him no matter what. You are great for him because you were created out of his amazing love. You are born to be happy on this earth and can enjoy the beauty of this planet earth. Remember, God forgives you always because he knows your weaknesses. In Jeremiah 31:3-The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, [saying], Yea,

Biblical reflection I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee. Therefore, love God as your gratitude to Him. Allow God to hold you in order that you will not be lost along your journey in life: Printing paid by: Edith Ranoa - Jordan and Crespina Ranoa - Bobong Balino– Cagayan De Oro: # 09187148435: Please have my latest book: To

How can patients prevent medication errors? Quezon Cit y— December 1, 2016—In the Philippines, 79 percent of patients experienceat least one error during their medication period. Such errors may cause the patients to experience adverse drug reactions, aggravation of illness or worst, death. Given this risk amongpatients, PharexHealthCorp.—the most prescribed unibranded generic medicines— encourages them to be aware of the prevalent medication errors, such as incorrect frequency and

timing, improper administration, discrepancy in dosage and intake of the wrong drug, among others. Such lapses in medication are caused by three factors. First is poor communication between health care providers. This happens when a patient visits different health care provider, but does not inform the new provider of his medication history. Secondly, medication error also happens when a physician does not clearly make his patient understand the prescribed

medication. Finally, there are medication names and medical abbreviations that soundalike, causing confusion and incorrect usage. “Medication errors make the condition of the patients even worse. Such errors could causehospitalization that will result in lost productivity and money that could be used for other household expenses like food, house rent, or education. This is the reason why patients and their caregivers need to understand how vital it is to prevent medication errors,” said Tomas Marcelo Agana III, President and CEO of PharexHealthCorp. To help patients properly

adhere to their prescribed medications and avoid errors that could worsen their conditions, PharexHealthCorp. developed the Pharex CP15. It is a 15-day compliance pouch intended to make intake of medicine simpler as quality medi-

cines good for two weeks are sealed together in a water-resistant pouch. Agana concluded, “Filipino patients may count on us as we are dedicated to innovate and provide solutions that will help decrease the risk of medication

errors. It is our mission to assist them in improving their conditions and have a healthy life.” Pharex CP15 are all available in any leading drugstores. For more details, kindly contact 433-8088 (local 820).

ROTC in K to 12? By MARIA DENIZA M. RAPIRAP Teacher I Imbatug Central Elementary School

THE Department of National Defense in the Philippines is actively lobbying to insert ROTC in senior high within the K to 12 program. In a recent symposium, a Defense official said that it has even helped Congress draft a bill implementing major changes to the original composition of ROTC. The bill will be filed by a sponsoring congressman in February 2017. Under the proposal, the biggest change for the proposed program is that it will require all Grades 11 and 12 students to join the ROTC. For now, there are no Grade 12 students yet as K to 12 senior high is still in

its infancy. But Grades 11 and 12 are roughly equivalent to the freshman and sophomore years in college of the previous curriculum where ROTC is one of the mandatory tracks chosen by students under NSTP. In the draft bill, it will still have the usual field military training drills but with new modules. If DND has its way, students will now focus on learning about disaster management. The bill comes more than three months since President Duterte first called for the return of ROTC. Acting on the President’s request, Ched vowed to study the proposal.

presentation. “We gave our time and some gifts but the children gave us more. They showed us that in spite of the challenges that they have experienced, they found meaning in their life and a place that they

could call a home.” said Arnold Arsolon, Davao Light AVP for RSG. The RSG team also visits IP communities to donate school supplies and foot wear for the children, and teach proper hygiene to families.
