PDIC takes over rural bank in Misor
THE Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC)on Friday took over the management and operations of Xavier-Tibod Bank, Inc. (A Microfinance Rural Bank) in Misamis Oriental. Under Resolution No. 2133. A dated December 1, 2016, the Monetary Board of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) directed PDIC as Receiver to proceed with the takeover and liquidation of the bank. Former Cabinet Secretary Rene Almendras, now AC Infra president and CEO, said the Ayala Group has rebranded its emerging businesses––the AC Energy, AC Infra, AC Health, AC Education, AC Industrials, and AC Automotive. Lanao del Norte hosts triathlon amid violence By GERRY LEE GORIT Correspondent
CAGAYAN de Oro City--In spite of the armed conflict in areas in its neighboring province, Lanao del Norte has remained undeterred in and has in fact acting as host to sports events within the month. Gov. Imelda QuibranzaDimaporo said they are not affected by the fighting between government forces and the Maute group in Butig, Lanao del Sur and even hosted a triathlon competition. The governor said “it is business as usual” in Lanao del Norte, and as proof of this, the Lanorte Man 2016
was held and was participated in by triathletes from all around the country over the weekend. Quibranza-Dimaporo said Lanao del Norte was the venue of the last leg of the
Lanorte Man, a triathlon competition organized by the provincial government and participated in by local enthusiasts and professional triathletes from all over the country from
December 3 to December 4. A special category for children, Lanorte Kids, was also held on the same date. The Lanorte Man 2016, separated into two different types, was the final series
of the competition with 285 athletes competed to test who was at peak human body condition. The types comprise of the Sprint and the Standard. See HOSTS, page A6
