RDC-X consults LGUs on priorities Presents RDP guidelines and Ambisyon Natin 2040

RDC-X Chairperson and Bukidnon Governor Jose Maria R. Zubiri, Jr. pushed for the bottom up process in the formulation of the Regional Development Plan, 2017-2022 by conducting consultations with the provinces and highly-urbanized cities in the region. This is to ensure wider participation of concerned stakeholders at the local level, ensure ownership, and enlist commitment and support of the LGUs in the entire planning process.

BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Health in Caraga has once again urged the public to exercise vigilance in celebrating the holiday season and the coming year.

An Executive Order banning fireworks nationwide was put on hold for next year. This will allow government to evaluate its impact on the fireworks industry and find practical alternatives to achieve injury-free Christmas and year-end celebrations.

In Caraga, firecracker injuries were remarkably high in 2015 (81) compared to 2014 (16). Majority of the cases were due to Piccolo, affecting the 0-10 years old age goup. About 50% of the type of injury was blast trauma while 91.1% of the cases were active involvement.

In 2014, Surigao del Sur registered the most number of firecracker injuries while in 2015, Agusan del Sur had 18 cases.

Let a professional operate fireworks. For our local government units, we encourage community fireworks display; for parents, look out for your children at all times to avoid injuries and accidents.

Themed “Giant Steps for 2016 and beyond”, PBC&E gathered close to 1000 delegates from member chambers of PCCI nationwide, diplomatic corps, business councils, industry associations, and counterpart chambers from other countries. It featured keynote speeches from President Rodrigo Duterte, VicePresident Leni Robredo, Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri for the legislative agenda on advancing competitiveness, and numerous cabinet officials who discussed their department policies.

In addition, Globe was also involved in a business matching and networking breakout session as part of its partnership with PCCI for the PBC&E. The telco also supported PCCI through the golf tournament and a chamber management workshop for SMEs, which was held prior the conference.
