DOH launches nurses’ specialty certification program

The Department of Health (DOH) launched its certification program for nurses in eleven specialty areas such as cardiovascular, renal, pulmonary, mental health, maternal and child, infectious diseases, orthopaedic and rehabilitation, trauma and emergency, operating room, and anesthesia care. “This is a key strategy to enhance the competencies of the country’s nurses who play vital roles in the attainment of universal health care or Kalusugan Pangkalahatan,” Secretary of Health Enrique Ona said. The DOH Nurse Certification Program will be open to all Filipino registered nurses, as well as, foreign nurses with Special Temporary Permit from the Professional Regulations Commission. These courses will be available at selected DOH Specialty hospitals: cardiovascular nursing at the SEE nurses/p.11
