Murder complaint against Swiss national dismissed SURIGAO City--The City Prosecution Office here has dismissed for lack of evidence a complaint for murder filed against a Swiss national who allegedly killed his best friend, also a Swiss national, in October last year. “There is a lack of evidence, motive and circumstantial evidence sufficient to charge the respondent with homicide much less murder; the circumstantial evidence submitted by the

complainant could not link the respondent to the crime,” the four-page resolution penned by Maria Kristhina V. Paat-Salumbides, assistant prosecutor and Manuel N. Tesiorna, Jr., city prosecutor, said of the complaint filed against Swiss national Arnauld Mcfly. CAGAYAN de Oro City -A lawmaker on Wednesday has demanded an immediate probe on reports that the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) is building up its military arm in a new military camp in Iligan City. Rep. Rufus Rodriguez, head of the House Committee that reviews the Bangsamoro Basic Law

(BBL), said that it is a cause of alarm if, indeed, the MILF has established a military camp in Rogongon, an outskirt farming village Northeast of Iligan City. The MILF military camp in Rogongon is reportedly equipped with bunkers, obstacle course, and target practice range, he said. “I am asking Gen. Gregorio Catapang, commanding general of the Armed Forces

of the Philippines (AFP), to conduct an investigation of the report,” Rodriguez said. He said that the AFP should demolish the MILF camp because it is a violation of the initial peace accord where the MILF agreed to withhold all military activities, including expansion and movement of its troops.
