BUTUAN City––The Department of Health (DOH) has reported a climb in dengue cases to 3,313 in Caraga Region for January 1 to August 2, 2014, a significant 60 percent increase from the 2,074 cases recorded for the same period last year. This latest development topped by 330 cases or almost 10 percent the 2,983 dengue cases earlier reported by DOH-Caraga. CAGAYAN de Oro City–– The Department of the Internal and Local Government of the (DILG) in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao ( DILG) in partnership with the city government of the Islamic City of Marawi and the city Liga ng Barangay president
jointly conducted the Capacity Enhancement Program Seminar-Workshop for all barangay newly elected official (BNEO) from August 6 to August 8, 2014 held at Country Village Hotel in Barangay Carmen here. The theme of the threeday seminar-workshop for barangay officials of Marawi City is “Strengthening Local Governance for Effective
Service Delivery.” Marawi City Mayor Fahad “Pre” Salic, said the three-day live-in seminarworkshop was focused on solid waste management, barangay justice services system on the katarungang pambarangay, laws on business permit and license system, (BPLS) Peace and Order through the Barangay Peace Action Team (BPAT)

THE city prosecutor’s office in Cagayan de Oro will know by yesterday whether a panel of prosecutors will be formed to handle the case filed against a cop for a number of missing firearms at Camp Alagar. City chief prosecutor Fidel Macauyag said if the case can be handled by one prosecutor then there is no need to form a panel. Macauyag said they have 10 days to evaluate the case filed against PO3 Cecille Daaca, custodian of the firearms at Camp Alagar, the headquarters of the Philippine National Police in Region 10. He said there are three complainants including a non-uniformed personnel of the police headquarters and a low-ranking officer. The case stems from See COP, page A7
