CAGAYAN de Oro City––A lawmaker from Cagayan De Oro City is pushing for the removal of the Philippines from the list of countries with intellectual property rights (IPR) violations. Rep. Rufus B. Rodriguez, of Cagayan De Oro’s Second District, said that the Philippines is currently listed under the “Ordinary Watch List” of the annual report of the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) called the “Special 301 Report.” The Ordinary Watch List is the lowest category that

BSP to demonetize old bills CAGAYAN de Oro City––The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is encouraging the public with the old series of currency, bank notes to have them exchanged before they are demonetized, said a bank official here on Monday. Dexter Erick Demafeliz, senior research specialist of the Central Bank of the Philippines here, said that BSP is set to demonetize the old currency notes in

2015 to give way to the full circulation of the new generation currency bank notes. The new generation currency series, in denominations of P 20, P 50, P 100, P 200, P 500 and P 1000, were first circulated in 2010.
