EUGEOT, Europe’s second-largest automotive marque, has officially opened its doors to Mindanao market through the inauguration of first Mindanao dealership, Thursday, February 28, 2013, here in Cagayan de Oro City, boasting of its twin-economical power system. PSA Peugeot Citroen is a major French automaker and the world’s leading producer of diesel engines. Peugeot is now under the distributorship of Eurobrands Distributor Inc. (EDI), a member of the Columbian Group of Companies, under the helm of its chairman emeritus, Jose Ch. Alvarez, who is known being into high-end European brands, with BMW and Korean’s Kia under his stable. Labor affirms dismissal by NGCP of its erring employees

T

hree (3) cases for illegal termination of employment against the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) have been dismissed for lack of merit. In a Decision handed by the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) Regional Arbitration Branch No. XIII in Butuan City on January 30, the court denied the claims for reinstatement,

back wages, damages and reliefs of complainants Alvaro L. Salingay, Jose B. Siarot, and Jose C. Simogan. Said complainants were terminated from their employment for manipulating and interfering with NGCP's bidding process for a service contract hiring laborers and renting vehicles for line clearing activities. The termination was based on a decision of an administrative

investigating panel on August 28, 2012 after hearing and due consideration, which declared the complainants guilty of violating the provisions of the NGCP Code of Conduct and recommended their dismissal of employment without any entitlement to separation pay.
