WANDER to the uptown part of Cagayan de Oro and you’ll find a cozy spot for vegetarians and vegans alike. Buen Provecho, which is Spanish for “enjoy eating” is exactly like that. It encourages you to eat more yet remain weighing less. Why? Because this resto inside Lane 101, Masterson Ave. serves only veggies. But no they’re not your regular green-
colored looking stuff. For this is the only restaurant in uptown Cagayan de Oro to serve faux meat. Faux meat, which looks oh seemingly real minus the guilt of course, is being meticulously prepared by Buen Provecho Café’s inhouse chef who trained in Cavite just for the purpose. Buen Provecho is a product of hardwork by wellness practitioner Dr.
Rod Tabingo. Tabingo said he was enticed to put up his own restaurant business to “walk the talk” so to speak after his string of wellness lecture series garnered a following. “We are holding
wellness discussions and sessions every Saturday afternoon at the function room of Buen Provecho Café. For the participants, they will be able to appreciate more how important wellness is to them once they have tasted the food that we serve,” Tabingo said. Buen Provecho Café may proudly call itself the only vegan resto in uptown Cagayan de Oro but the prices of its food offerings remain grounded. “Of course food/PAGE 7
