Cagayan de Oro Academy for International Education throws open its doors to students from Preschool to Senior High on June 26, 2017 at Paseo del Rio, Cagayan de Oro City.

New CDO-AIE Campus Inaugurated

T

he official blessing and inauguration of the new campus was held in the morning of May 18, 2017 at CDO-AIE. The event started with the cutting of the ceremonial ribbon officiated by the Guest of Honor, Dr. Elena M. Borcillo, CESO V, the Schools Division Superintendent of Cagayan de Oro City. Zealep Group of Companies Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Rafaelita P. Pelaez with Board Director Dr. Mariano M. Lerin, President of Liceo de Cagayan University, attended the event. The eucharistic celebration followed after. Officiating priest Rev. Fr. Julius B. Clavero of the Society of Saint John Vianney gave a homily made interesting with a story of his memories when he was a student of Mrs. Rose C. Padin in the Basic Education Division of Liceo de Cagayan University. Mrs. Padin has recently been appointed the School Principal of CDO-AIE. The G-Clef Society, the official choral group of Liceo de Cagayan University, led the singing of the mass hymns under the musical direction of Mr. Michael Jhun P. PaceĂąo. The program started after the final blessing

of the school campus. Dr. Alain Marc P. Golez, School President, opened the program. Eliza Jenn Montealto and Rafaella Clarice Somera, both incoming grade five students, presented a song number. Exceptional students Alexielle Neve Baylin, Jean-Pierre Magpily, Daniella Urciuoli, and Shantana Mariz Magpily recited the school’s Vision, Mission, Philosophy, and Core Values respectively. A dance number followed, performed by incoming high school students Jennifer Louise Balon and Moselle Faye Almajar. The program then concluded with a testimony delivered by Trina Paano, an honor student who has been studying in CDO-AIE for seven years. Matigsalug group undergoes values formation and team building Fifty members of the Matigsalug tribe attended last April 19-20 a values formation training and team building activity organized by AboitizPower subsidiary Therma South, Inc. (TSI) and Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (AFI). The activity, conducted in cooperation with

the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) XI and the Matigsalug Council of Elders Marilog District Davao City, Inc. (MACOEMADDACI), was part of the crafts livelihood project of AboitizPower for the indigenous peoples. It aims to capacitate the Matigsalug tribe members into

developing quality, culturally inspired clothing, baskets, and fashion accessories that can be sold commercially. The activity endeavors to instill values of teamwork and good work ethic in the Matigsalug trainees, as AboitizPower and DTI believe that starting the crafts program with a

right mindset is key to a successful livelihood intervention for the Matigsalugs. During the activity, participants discussed the values necessary in forming a cohesive team. This was done through fun-filled discussions and games. Members of the Davao Designers Pool were matigsalug/PAGE 11
