ITPI kickstarts NREA CDO trade exhibit Architect Romolo V. Nati gives talk on eco-friendly architecture and design
ItalPinas Euroasian Design and EcoDevelopment (ITPI Corp.), the developer of Primavera Residences in Cagayan De Oro City, stressed the need for property developers to lower their carbon footprint when developing properties during the recently concluded 2nd NREA Cagayan De Oro Chapter Biz-Con & Trade Exhibits held at the Activity Center of the Centrio mall. The National Real Estate Association (NREA) is a national trade organization comprising property developers, government agencies and advocates of urban and housing developments aimed at promoting strategic partnerships and collaborations. As one of the guest speakers at the event, ITPI chief executive officer, Romolo V. Nati gave a short talk on sustainable solutions for developing and designing properties. According to Nati, the architecture and design of a building can be drawn from nature itself. He cited two ITPI projects, Primavera Residences in Cagayan de Oro and another one in Santo Tomas, Batangas that adapt to the environment, particularly on how the buildings were designed to minimize the amount of direct sunlight entering the units. Protecting the units from the intense heat of the sun, he said, reduces power consumption, thus, eliminating the need for an air-conditioner. Primavera Residences, the company's first project, is also designed in a way that reduces the impact on the environment.

Ayala Museum presents Botong Francisco art to CDO CAGAYAN DE ORO, MISAMIS ORIENTAL— Now on it’s fifth stopover, Ayala Museum’s traveling exhibition on National Artist Carlos “Botong” Francisco now heads to the “City of Golden Friendship” for a month-long run at Centrio Mall. After its official opening ceremonies noon of March 26, the exhibition entitled “Botong Francisco: A Nation Imagined,” will be on view until April 25, 2014. The show features 25 reproductions of Botong’s paintings from institutional and private collections. Accompanying these images is a film produced by Ayala Foundation, Inc. (AFI) and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Peque Gallaga on Botong’s vision and artistry. This outreach initiative of AFI’s Arts and Culture Division is a traveling version of the museum exhibition held last December 2012 to March 2013 in celebration of Botong Francisco’s centennial birth anniversary at Ayala Museum in Makati City. The exhibition showcased over forty actual paintings by Botong supplemented by a short film that captured his large-scale works and murals
commissioned for public buildings. The film had also been selected for inclusion in the documentary category at the 2013 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The traveling exhibition was launched at the District North Point Mall in Talisay, Negros Occidental and subsequently toured to Museo Negrense at the University of St. La Salle, Bacolod; Museo Iloilo, Iloilo City; and Abreeza Mall in Davao, Davao del Sur. By partnering with malls and centers of education such as universities and museums, Ayala Museum believes that the life and legacy of the artist will be widely promoted, particularly to students and general audiences outside Metro Manila, where its main building and exhibition spaces are based. The CDO leg of Botong: Francisco: A Nation Imagined is presented by Ayala Museum in partnership with Centrio Mall. Additional support provided by Air21. WORDS AND NOTES
by DEBBIE CABAGUE
remarkability isn’t a goal but a by product of their passion. As for the new graduates here are some important insights I quote from Francis Kong for you to carry as you head on in your new journey. “Never stop learning. Graduating from school does not mean an end to learning. The world is always moving forward, with new discoveries being made and new things being invented. In an age where information is fast acquired, you can’t afford to be left behind.” “Next is attitude management, “If you hate your professor now, just wait until your two masters: your boss and your mother-in-law.” Professionalism is important, because “how can you manage your business properly if you can’t manage your own attitude?” And lastly, “Your life is special, you are unique, there is no one else like you.” “You are in control. Don’t let other people control your lives for you,” You may not be able to choose your circumstances, but you can choose how you respond to them. You may not be able to choose your family, but you can choose your friends. “Winners are always in the company of winners,” and that you should “be careful of the company you keep.” Hang out with achievers and you will be pressured to do good as well. To the new graduates ... Congratulations, welcome to the real world. Work toward Remarkability.
