Wrangler opens biggest PH Boutique in Limketkai Center

T

he iconic American jeans denim brand Wrangler branch has opened its biggest boutique store in the Philippines at the 2nd level of Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City.

According to Joanna Antonette “Toni” L. Wong, boutique operations manager, the Wrangler Limketkai Center boutique is 155 square meters of space and includes the only “denim bar” among its six stores in Mindanao with a duly-trained “denim mechanic” who can make needed alterations on the spot for new jeans buyers as well as for those wanting to revamp their old Wranglers with a new look. “We also have a special treat for those visiting our bar and boutique,” Ms. Toni quipped. “It’s our special brand of coffee we can brew to your taste!” So besides the admittedly great tasting

coffee, what else can the visitor expect for visiting the country’s biggest Wrangler boutique? “We have the biggest variety of styles and products you can choose from,” said Ms. Toni as she brought us around the excellently designed and laidout store. “Besides our traditional jeans, Wrangler is now a complete outfitter who can dress you up from head to foot with our new lines including socks and underwear imported from abroad.” For its traditional jeans products alone, Wrangler probably now offers the widest variety of styles from the classic Wrangler jeans from the classic straights now

available in limited edition collections to the newest jeggings, leggings, skinny jeans, tubes and shorts for both men and women. Dresses, tees and tops, blouses and tunics, sweater and cardigans, pants and shorts, you can now have most if not all of their extensive line to choose from their store located in the 2nd floor of the Limketkai Center that’s conveniently located near the main entrance and a short walk from Shopwise. In parting, Ms. Toni shared with us a tip for making your jeans smell and feel fresh even if you’ve worn it three times already (or more, as is more the case with men who don’t give a second thought to wearing the same pair for a month). “Put it in the freezer soon as you reach home and the cold will kill all bacteria in your jeans,” she advises. “Defrost in the morning soon as you’re up and presto! All fresh and ready to go?” No kidding? Only one way to find out. Although Wrangler does have jeans which are silver treated and smell good even after extended wear. So what will it be for you? A new Wrangler or the freezer?

Lazada.com.ph Celebrates its Third Year Anniversary with a 3-Day Shopping Extravaganza Lazada Philippines, a part of Lazada Group which operates Southeast Asia’s number one online shopping and selling destination, is celebrating its third anniversary this month with three days of sales from 24 to 26 March. Lazada Group has seen rapid growth since its launch in March 2012. The company now has over 4,000 employees across the region and has raised approximately EUR 520 million in funding from leading sector specialists and investors including Temasek, Tesco, JP Morgan, Kinnevik and Rocket Internet, among others. In December 2014, Lazada Group’s GMV exceeded US$70 million, supported by the success of the month-long Online Revolution campaign which kicks off annually on 11

November. Its sites and mobile applications saw over 40 million unique visitors during the month of December. This performance is testament to the company’s focus on delivering an effortless, secure and reliable one-stop shopping experience for its customers. Lazada Group’s growth is also a result of its rapid assortment expansion driven by its unique position to provide brands and merchants simple, fast and direct access to approximately 550 million consumers in six countries through one retail channel. The number of sellers on the marketplace platform, which now accounts for approximately 75% of overall sales, crossed 10,000 in December 2014. Addressing the logistical challenges

in the region, Lazada Group is investing heavily to develop its infrastructure. The company now has eight warehouses and a dedicated Lazada Express last mile delivery fleet with 50 hubs covering 80 cities. In addition, Lazada Group has partnered with 60 express transport and courier companies across the region to provide customers with quick and reliable delivery. “We are delighted to be celebrating our third year of rapid growth this month. Looking ahead, Lazada will continue to focus on increasing its assortment range, expand our logistics infrastructure and payment solutions to further enhance the effortless shopping experience for our customers,” says Inanc Balci, Co-Founder and

Chief Executive Officer of Lazada Philippines. Lazada.com.ph has been growing in line with the group and received 18 million visits in December 2014. By continuing to focus on developing the marketplace platform to support brands and merchants, the company reached more

than 1,600 sellers by the end February 2015, who were supported by 1500 employees. Following the success of the Online Revolution campaign last 2014 and the Mobile Power Sale last February 2015, consumers can expect more from the upcoming birthday sales from 24 to 26 March. hink a minute…Bram Stoker was a successful theatre manager in England during Queen Victoria’s time. Everybody who knew him said he was the most easy-going, kindest man they knew. Bram’s wife, Florence, was a beautiful woman who had been courted by wealthy men of high social status, including the famous Oscar Wilde. But she chose to marry this exceptionally kind gentleman, Bram Stoker. The Stokers were seen at all the high-society parties and important events. Later, when their child was born people said their marriage and family was perfect. Bram Stoker continued to be known as Mr. Nice Guy. He often gave money to his friends without even asking for anything in return. Bram and his wife had many famous friends like Mark Twain, Walt Whitman, and the President of the United States, Teddy Roosevelt. No one ever suspected that this nice, kind man actually lived a double life. They didn’t know that at night after work and all his proper, social appearances, Bram Stoker became someone else. In fact, he was also a writer. You see, he wrote the famous story, Dracula, based on his own real life at night, and all the evil things he did with

prostitutes. Bram Stoker, this nice man by day and immoral monster by night, eventually died from the sexually transmitted disease of syphilis. You know, Jesus Christ said that there are many nice, religious people who live double lives. They do all the good, right things on the outside for people to see, but inside they’re proud and live their own way for their own immoral pleasures. But even if we fool people, we can never fool God. Jesus said every human being needs His gift of forgiveness, because we’ve all done many things wrong. Jesus also said that we all, including nice, religious people, need His power to change our proud, wrong hearts and character. That’s why God the Son had to become a human being: being: to die and pay the penalty for all our wrongs. It was the only way we could be forgiven by our perfect Maker and start a new life living His way. So won’t you ask Jesus to forgive you and help you start changing today? Jesus will give you real satisfaction and peace, and the power to live His right way both in public and in private, night and day every day. Just Think a Minute!

Once you received your earnings, ano ang activities na ginagawa mo using it? If you really want to increase your income, spend your t i m e d o i n g M O N E YGENERATING ACTIVITIES. Kasabay ng activities na yun, you also need to spend your

time … LEARNING FROM OTHER PEOPLE Parang yung kasabihan lang yan na, “Birds with the same feather flock together.” Kung ang goal mo is to increase income, join the people with the same goal as yours who will inspire and help you to reach that goal. Imbis na mag hang out ka on a Friday night, why not attend a seminar that will have great influence in fulfilling your dreams? At imbis na chismis ang laman ng kwentuhan, bakit hindi ka mag join sa usapan na mas makabuluhan? By spending most of your time with the people to whom you can learn, mahahawa ka sa pagiging focused nila sa goal, sa pagkakaroon ng positive outlook nila sa buhay, at matututunan mo din yung technical knowledge about the certain goal you want to achieve. At siyempre, if you want to increase your income, you need to … SAVE AND DECREASE YOUR EXPENSES Gaano man kalaki ang kinikita mo kung panay din naman ang gastos mo at

walang naitatabi, kakapusin ka talaga. You always need to remember to SEPARATE your wants and needs. Bawasan ang paggastos sa mga UNNECESSARY things. Ano ano ang mga unnecessary things? Alam mo na yan! At dahil binabawasan mo ang paggastos for wants, meron ka nang mailalaan for your savings. And this will be a very good sign that you’re starting to increase your income. Lastly, you need to … STOP ACTING LIKE VICTIMS AND START ACTING LIKE VICTORS Huwag mo nang sisihin ang pamilya, boss at gobyerno kung bakit kulang ang kita mo! At the end of the day, IKAW naman talaga ang may final decision kung ano ang gagawin sa pera mo. Take RESPONSIBILITY sa bawat actions mo.

THINK. REFLECT. APPLY. What are the things that consume your time? Are you saving enough and decreasing unnecessary expenses? Are you ready to start acting like victors and take responsibility with your own resources?

ho could this be? Of course: Asia! Asia’s big economies are set to grow by 6.3 percent this year and 2016, said the Asian Development Bank ADB in its annual report just released in Manila.. But what is driving this growth and what are the risks involved? The region’s strong economic growth of 6.3 percent - the same as last year - will be supported by soft commodity prices and recovery in the major industrial economies, said this new report. According to the Asian Development Outlook 2015, India is forecast to overtake China in terms of economic growth as the initial phase of

government efforts to remove structural bottlenecks is lifting investor confidence. With the support of stronger external demand, India is set to expand by 7.8 percent in 2015 - ending 31 March 2016 - a sharp rise from 7.4 percent growth in 2014. This momentum is expected to build to 8.2 percent growth in 2016, aided by expected easing of monetary policy and a pickup in capital expenditure, said the paper. As for China, growth is expected to slow to 7.2 percent in 2015 and 7.0 percent in 2016. This is a much more moderate rate than the average growth of 8.5 percent in the

period since the global financial crisis. Across the sub-regions, economic growth in East Asia will slow to 6.5 percent in 2015 and 6.3 percent in 2016 reflecting the moderation in China. Growth in South Asia is projected to trend higher to 7.2 percent in 2015 and 7.6 percent in 2016, and Southeast Asia is poised for a growth rebound of 4.9 percent in 2015 and 5.3 percent in 2016 as recovery in Indonesia and Thailand leads the way, and with most of the sub-region expected to benefit from rising exports and lower inflation, said to the report. In a international TV-interview - last

night on screen, Shang-Jin Wei, the bank’s chief economist explains that he believes developing Asia will continue to be the main driver of global growth in the next couple of years. Why? The main factors are the reforms undertaken in many of these countries, the recovery in high income countries such as the United States, Europe and Japan and, last but not least, the reduction in commodity prices. The all will help to sustain growth, but this will be tempered by moderate growth in China. The world economy needs indeed a main driver of global growth. If not Asia who then?

Globe awareness campaign on consumable data plans wins bronze at the 2015 PR Awards Globe Telecom bagged a Bronze award in Best Crisis Management at this year’s PR Awards for leading the industry shift to consumable data plans using an extensive communications campaign which aimed to educate the public and its customers about responsible internet use. As part of its customer experience roadmap, Globe embarked on a massive awareness campaign for its fair use policy as a standard global practice to ensure quality of network experience among customers. The campaign also taught customers responsible data usage and monitoring and provided them access to a better mobile internet experience with the introduction of its GoSURF data plans. The successful introduction of GoSURF provided customers with better and more relevant mobile data plans with more affordable pricing, access to exclusive content and apps, and a

more seamless and uninterrupted browsing experience. Globe spearheaded industry shift to consumable data plans following steady increase in smartphone penetration along with the demand for affordable and relevant data plans. The success of the company’s consumable data plans helped underpin a double-digit growth in the company’s mobile data business in 2014. Mobile browsing and other data revenues reached P14.3 billion, up 23% from P11.6 billion in the previous year, accounting for 18% of total mobile service revenues and posting higher revenue contributions to overall mobile business, with growth on the back of the continuous demand for data services, popularity of datadriven products and applications, and the continuing shift among consumers to a digital lifestyle. “We are thankful to the PR Awards for recognizing our efforts to be open and transparent

with our customers as well as provide them with innovative services and experiences. This citation is a testament to our strengthened visibility in the regional telecom industry and our continued journey as a global digital brand,” said Yoly Crisanto, Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications at Globe. Globe also received finalist citations for its #StopSPAM campaign under the Best Crisis Management category and Slipstream under the Best Sports PR campaign category at the PR Awards 2015. The PR Awards is the premier event celebrating excellence across the public relations spectrum in Southeast Asia. From one-off stunts to long term programs, the PR Awards recognizes brands that have pushed themselves towards measurable success through sound and strategic communications.

Globe inaugurates PHL’s first ‘containerized’ data center facility March 23-29, 2015

Globe continues to blaze trails in data storage technology as it broke new ground for its new data center, considered the first containerized facility of such kind in the Philippines. A huge leap forward for using advanced technologies, the data center is constructed to house the company’s first facilities in a modular data center rendition.
