HE pride of Balingasag, 18-year-old Berjayneth Chee, was the unanimous choice of all five judges during the Miss Kuyamis 2017 swimsuit competition held last December 29 at the scenic Blue View Resort in El Salvador City. Chee wowed the judges and even the audience led by Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano with her curves and grace and went on grabbing the coveted laurel of the afternoon. Chee’s win didn’t come as a surprise though. Despite her precarious young age, Chee is already a veteran of many beauty tilts. She was Mutya ng Bulua 2015 and she’s currently the reigning Miss PRISAA 2016. But Chee was able to be noticed on the local mainstream beauty circuit when she joined Miss Silka Northern Mindanao 2016 last September. Although she wasn’t able to snatch the top spot, local fashion photographers including this writer were also unanimous in predicting that the 5’8”
beauty has a long way to go in the beauty pageant scene here and even on a nationwide scale. Chee is joined by other candidates Kristian Larroza (Alubijid), Princess Milcah Faith Achas (Claveria), Elizabeth Amahan (El Salvador City), Quennie Galarozza (Initao), Ma. Adela Vanguardia (Jasaan), Sushmita Agbong (Lagonglong), Cariza Mae Daa (Laguindingan), Gay Marie Sarsaba (Lugait), Danna Rose Socaoco (Magsaysay), Sharlle Neilijan Gomonay (Manticao), Rona Cristy Flores (Medina), Elmarie Quinones (Naawan), Mona Rica Atasan (Salay), Quinee Factura (Tagoloan) and Mona Berdejo (Talisayan) who will vie for Miss Kuyamis 2017 kuyamis/PAGE 7

ProbinSeano Pinoy resto now serves Cagayanons Photos and Text By ERCEL MAANDIG
DERIVED from the name of the owner “Sean”, ProbinSeano Filipino Restaurant will kick off its Grand Opening on January 2017. The halalcertified restaurant had its soft opening on December 15 last year with Shabu-Shabu Korean cooking but
Filipino Style is their top of the list in their menus.Shabu-shabu is an Asian version of fondue. Instead of cooking the food in boiling oil, it’s cooked in boiling broth. At the end of the shabu shabu meal, noodles are added to the broth and what results is a wonderful
soup that has been f lavored by all of the foods that went before. Ideally, you should have a Mongolian hotpot or a Chinese firepot for this dish, but you can use a regular fondue pot or chafing dish using canned heat. It’s wise to heat the broth on the kitchen stove, then transfer it to the tabletop cooker. You
experience the Shabushabu cooking right at your table were a hotpot was installed at the center. But because its a Pinoy restaurant, their menus are Filipino dishes but no pork at all. The Restaurant ambiance is Filipinothemed with bamboo architectural design in the interior and exterior
that will surely amaze the dining public. Its Shabu-Shabu hours are from 11:00 in the morning until 9:00 in the evening while bar hour starts at 9:00 p.m. onwards with variety of imported and local wines at the bar window. The owner has several years of resto/PAGE 2
