Ayala Business Club CDO, OPS give back with Kawyagan sa Marawi T

he Ayala Business Club of Cagayan de Oro and the Oro Photographic Society recently joined hands for a two-day exhibit of Maranao arts and crafts at the Centrio Mall Activity Center on December 11-12, 2017. Dubbed “Kawyagan sa Marawi”, the livelihood exhibit highlighted the artistry of the Maranao people to raise funds for a number of livelihood and psycho-social projects focused on the return of normalcy. “The need to rebuild starts from building a firm base to stand on and it is imperative to focus on the needs of its citizens and livelihood projects,” said Eric Gabiana, ABC-CDO Vice President. “We, the Ayala Business Club Cagayan de Oro Chapter would like to ensure that a torch

remains fixed on the positive spirit of Marawi. Work has begun on a number of livelihood and psycho-social projects focused on the return to normalcy, and rebuilding not just structures, but the people, culture, and history of the city.” “Today, we put a spotlight on the hard work, dedication and never-ending resolve of the Maranao,” Gabiana said. “Traditional crafting skills passed down from generation to generation, weaving a cacophony of colors to make kawyawag/PAGE 2

Pasko de Oro & Paskorela Parade light up Plaza Divisoria Despite the prevailing weather the past few days, the city’s oldest business district lit up last December 19 with the 4th edition of the Pasko de Oro and Paskorela Parade. Postponed earlier due to the rainy weather, there was no stopping the marching bands of three of the city’s

elementary schools and 10 contestants to the Paskorela competition which brought Christmas cheer to Plaza Divisoria and its surrounding streets with its short parade and palabas. Special prizes were awarded to the participating marching bands with the Bulua full story/PAGE 2
