he Joint Inspection Team (JIT) of the City Government of Cagayan de Oro will start monitoring compliance with business permits and licensing requirements on 22 April 2014. The inspections will be conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting with newly-registered businesses operating in the city’s urban barangays. The JIT was created by virtue of Executive Order No. 202-13, issued by City Mayor Oscar S. Moreno, in compliance with Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 01, series of 2010, issued by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). “This is nothing new,” the Mayor said, adding that the said joint circular provides guidelines in the INSPECT P10

Primavera Residences showcases works of CdO artist Nicolas Aca, Jr. Primavera Residences, a new mixed-use green development in Cagayan de Oro, is pleased to showcase the works of local artist Nicolas Aca, Jr. Since March 25, fifteen of Aca's select artworks have been on display at the multipurpose hall of Primavera Residences. Art enthusiasts can view the exhibit for free until April 25. The month-long art exhibit is a Primavera Residences initiative that aims to support the local art scene by featuring the works of Cagayan de Oro artists. Nick Aca, Jr., as he is often called, is a celebrated visual and performance artist in Cagayan de Oro known for his collage and assemblage works. He has previously showcased his works in an exhibit at the Singapore Art Museum in 2013 and more recently in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. At present, he is the resident artist and gallery curator at the Capitol University Museum of Three Cultures in Cagayan de Oro. Among his select works on display at Primavera Residences is a masterpiece wood relief called "Poverty Lines." The wood relief is his take on the Philippine government's Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, or 4Ps, which is a conditional cash transfer program created by the government to alleviate the health and education conditions of poor families.
