CAGAYAN de Oro City–– The proposed 2015 Revenue Code intends to classify patients who could avail of more exemption rates at the city-owned hospital here, a city official said. City Councilor Prexy Elipe, chair of the council committee on finance, said that hospital patients who are earning P 10,000 or less a month will benefit more from the new revenue code. Under the Revenue Code of 2015, patients with a monthly income of P 10,000 and below are classified as “Class C” which is defined as a patient of family who are the “working poor.” Those with full time work, but their income is not sufficient to meet their treatment expenses in full and is admitted to a ward also fall under “Class C.” Both patients under Class C category will pay lower rates at the hospital, Elipe said. The other category of patients was determined according to paying capabilities: Class A for paying patients, Class B (Pay Ward) and Class D (Full Social Services), he said.
