UTUAN CITY -- A drug suspect was arrested and a sizable volume of illegal drugs, cash and drug paraphernalia were seized in a joint police raid during the weekend at a southern city in the region.
Reports from Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office reaching the police regional headquarters here on Monday said that the Bayugan City Police Station led by its chief PSupt. Reynante N. PNP-Lanao del Norte inaugurates crime lab LANAO DEL NORTE – Governor Khalid Dimaporo led the inauguration rites and blessing of the recently constructed Crime Laboratory of the PNP-Provincial Headquarters, at Camp Gallego, recently. The crime laboratry is expected to provide scientific investigation services and other technical support to the Lanao del Norte - Provincial Police Office (PPO) and other government and non-government investigative agencies through fieldwork, scene of the crime operation (SOCO), forensic laboratory services, criminalistics training and research. “We are very thankful to Governor Khalid Dimaporo for his solid support to the Provincial PNP, Governor Dimaporo really moved heaven and earth to finally realize this vital facility,” said Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Director Madid
Paitao. With the operation of the Provincial Crime Laboratory Office (PCLO), Lanao del Norte PPO is now capable of providing scientific and technical support including the examination of illegal drugs, firearms identification, macro-etching examination, fingerprint comparison, explosives and substance examination, medico-legal and document examination, and scene of the crime operations. The blessing ceremony was officiated by Rev. Father Rodolfo Gallenzoga of San Isidro Parish in Tubod town. Also present during the inauguration rites were PNP Regional Director PCSupt. Thousands of poor to be assessed for Listahanan CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development will assess thousands of poor households for their inclusion to the database of the Listahanan – a system that identifies who and where the poor are in the country. On a recent “Talakayan” held by the Philippine Information Agency, the DSWD announced that about 793,989 households will be assessed in Northern Mindanao alone under its
second round assessment. Atty. Araceli F. Solamillo, Regional Director of the DSWD said that the Listahanan database is currently being utilized by the majority of local government units in the region, congressional districts and even civil society groups, and non-government organizations, and that the database is their basis in identifying their beneficiaries for their social protection programs and social services.
