help to children who are less fortunate, to share the blessings to the children, and to strengthen the camaraderie among teachers. There were fifty children, ages five to seven years old, in every place and they were recommended by their teachers and sitio leaders. The children gathered on the venue and were given slippers, food, balloon and chocolate. These were scheduled after classes from 3:00 to 4:30 pm. Some stakeholders were tapped to support the program. The outreach program was organized by Clarita P. Sisto as the chairman with Daisy D. Lu as co-chairman. It was approved by the assistant principal Virgilio S. Alinggom and Marichelle F Saga, Ph. Aboitiz power plant under 10-day maintenance shutdown DAVAO City--Therma South Inc. (TSI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Aboitiz Power, announced on Tuesday that it has implemented a 10-day preventive maintenance shutdown on its 150MW coal-fed TSI 1 power plant from Feb. 16 to 26 that resulted in two- to threehour rotational brownouts within the franchise area of Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC). In an emailed statement from Aboitiz Power, it only stated that the shutdown was enforced to prevent

problems from “recurring in the future” without specifically identifying what these issues are. The 150-MW second unit of TSI has remained operational, it said. In a separate statement, DLPC said it is left with 275 MW of available power to supply the consumers from its average daily demand of 345 MW. “The exact time when the power interruption will start in a given time frame still cannot be determined as the power supply allocation varies every hour. The number of feeders as well

IF we noticed, it appears Pres Noy Aquino would like to have either Mar Roxas or Grace Poe to come out victorious in the May elections. In the first place, both presidential candidates are strong contenders and it is not difficult that any of them could give VP Jejomar Binay a run around of his billions of pesos and still would eat dusts. Of course, in joke surveys, the vice president seems to be ahead, but in reality, he is lagging behind - - a thing in politics that is surely would mean defeat. This is one survey that any high school student would keep laughing. As far as Pres. Aquino is concerned, both Mar Roxas and Grace Poe are both loyal to him. If Roxas is elected president, Aquino will retire a clean ex-president and no one would run after him for any crimes real or imaginary like what happened to then Pres. Gloria MacapagalArroyo who until this day is under custody for various alleged offenses. Or if Grace Poe comes out the winner, she will do the same thing as Roxas thus the president will still be free from any prosecution. Pres. Aquino is certainly afraid of the new trend in Philippine politics where the exiting president is prosecuted without mercy. This does not occur several

decades ago and we don’t know who ever invented this political framework. As it is now getting elected as president will have to expose himself to a turmoil as he makes an exit after the expiration of his term. Cal it a gimmick of sorts or whatever, the fact is, it is troubling and would cause so much headache to the respondents. We read in the newspapers that some political enemies of the president are already planning to slap him of all sorts of criminal cases possible and even the impossible. In this scenario alone, we can see clearly that the prospect of the president going to jail is obvious. Someday very few people would run for president because of the peril involved. As I have been saying, politics in our country is growing faster than we thought.

I would agree so well if the criminal cases being leveled to the leaving president have basis in truth and in fact. The problem is being based on politics would mean lies or baseless allegations to frame up the victims. Any law students would agree that maneuvers are abundant in politics. Did we say that politics is a dirty game and the players must be smart and clever? Above all things, I still believe the candidates who have more money to throw on election day will prevail. The reason is vote-buying has miserably eroded our system and majority of the electorates have succumbed to the strength of cash. We know for a fact this matter is an offense but there never ever has gone to jail notwithstanding its open violations. Anyway, I might be talking so much of speculations or guesses but the fact is the possibilities are very legible. Thus we have to be watchful to make the scene a little bit more believable and just. It is very regrettable the appearance of our political system has tremendously changed and we have to adjust. The problem is politicians have gone smarter too. Whether we like it or not, we must be wiser and more careful of the sting of dirty politics in our midst.

February 14, 2016 - City Central School Reading Family presents “Alay Pag-ibig Sa House of Hope” –A joint project of CCS Bookworm Club’15 and CCS on Wheels, supported by the collaborative efforts of parents, members, Reading Teachers and Administrators in pursuit of giving and sharing graces to our less fortunate brothers and sisters in the center. “Alay Pag-ibig” is a community service that provides club members with opportunities to become active in the community and positive contributors to society. It enables pupils to acquire skills and knowledge as well as provide a service to others that need it in some way. Psychologically, it provides life satisfaction, feeling good about oneself, and decreases stress and depression. Socially, it engages with the community, creates special bonds with the population served, as

well as increased social responsibility. Cognitive aspects, it helps students enhance their knowledge, earn new experiences, and develop new skills. Community Service is important for many reasons. Taking part and volunteering Teaches compassion and understanding. It entails difference, every member counts! It encourages civic responsibility and get a chance to give back of what has been received. It connotes learning to discover your self-worth, learn about the functions and operation of our government and solve community needs. It strengthens community closer together. Uniting people from diverse backgrounds to work toward a common goal, building camaraderie and teamwork. It promotes personal growth and self – esteem, understanding community needs helps foster empathy and selfefficacy. Volunteers gain professional

experience and provides physical and mental rewards. It reduce stress, makes one healthy and strengthen immune system. It is fun and rewarding! Alcala handed over about P195 million (M) worth of agricultural assistance to more than 4,000 farmers and fisherfolks in attendance on February 15, 2016 during the conduct of a Farmers and Fisherfolks’ Forum, held in the Mindanao Civic Center Sports Complex, of this town. This gesture is in response to the Department of Agriculture (DA)’s goal of delivering more support to the key players of the agriculture sector, especially in the rural countryside. How do we find these threein-one circumstances? What is really a right love? When is the right time? My dear and sweet young ones, LOVE is so complicated and so broad to define. This four-letter word is in used, overused or even misused at any time. Yet when we hear the word, it sends shiver to our bones, it tickles out young hearts, and brings our fancy minds to dreamland. Let me share to you some definitions and quotes about love taken from St. Augustine: “Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being ”in love” which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident.” So, love is different from being in love or falling in love. It is not just a mere feeling; it is a choice, a decision, and a commitment. Feelings may come and go, but love remains. One of the intense crises that the world is facing today

This mature and right love is well described in the book of 1Corinthians 13: “Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things; believes all things; hopes all things; and endures all things.” It is patient and kind, because when you love you will not be in a hurry for true love waits. It doesn’t depend on emotional investment alone.

Rudeness in words may fly and land to each other’s ears and wound the hearts, rudeness also in deeds that spoils the relationship and may even result to broken marriages. It holds no grudges because it quickly forgets that a wrong has occurred. It rejoices in truth. Because nothing is more delightful than knowing and

To end this, let me strike again a quote for you to ponder on: “That which is striking and beautiful is not always good; but that which is good is always beautiful”.
