Lumapas, chair of the town council’s environment committee, raised serious concern about mining activities of Sky Reward Mining Company that re-channeled the water flow of the river near the national highway using backhoes and highpressure water pumps. “We will look into this matter thoroughly,” Lumapas said in a mobile phone interview indicating that the town council en-

Park heads commemorative visit of technocrats to Oro A DELEGATION 13 technocrats of various professional fields from the Seoul National University of Science and Technology of the Republic of Korea will visit Cagayan de Oro City this week for their international studies immersion and outreach program on Urban Planning and Development. The group of post graduate interns will be headed by Dr. Gyung Gyu Park, who is the concurrent dean of the Engineering Department Dr. Park
and Post-Graduate School of the University. A well respected Urban Planner and Development Consultant in the capital city of Seoul, South Korea, Dr. Park distinguished himself as an author of many technical references on urban planning, as well as a practitioner of spatial development in urban centers, housing and residences planning, traffic safety facilities, ecological architecture and environment, new town approaches,
and urban renewal to name a few fields of his expertise. The group will conduct mission briefing and round table discussions with select deans and academia from Liceo de Cagayan University on July 11th, 2014.
