CDO’S most wanted person arrested in Surigao Norte CAMP RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City - In an operation against wanted persons by personnel of the Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU13) and the local police of Alegria, Surigao del Norte, a 72-year-old murder suspect was arrested, yesterday afternoon, in Brgy Anahaw, said town. Arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Eduardo T. Lloren of RTC Branch 18, Cagayan de Oro City, was Gil Tañada Baloyo, widower and a resident of Purok-3, Zone 10, Upper Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City. Mamanwas barricade mining firm in Surigao del Norte

URIGAO CITY – A mining company in Claver town in Surigao del Norte was forced to suspend operations after some 150 members of the Mamanwa tribe, Saturday, put up a barricade against it for alleged nonpayment of royalty amounting to P30 million.

export to China, has not paid them since last year forcing them to stage the barricade. “We are deprived of our share and we feel being abused by this mining company,” Buklas said.
