Diskwento Caravan MAMBAJAO, Camiguin -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Camiguin Provincial Office will hold a “Diskwento Caravan” (carnival discount caravan) on September 4-6, 2014 at the Mambajao Food Terminal, Bagsakan Center in the province of Camiguin back to back with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Job Fair as a part of the pre-fiesta celebration of the yearly Mambajao Devotional Fiesta. This discount caravan is a regular activity of DTI to help the consumers avail of various basic products marked down by as much as 2% to 10%. The products to be sold include rice, sugar, cooking oil, fresh vegetables, dairy products, canned goods, hotdog, fruit preserves, juices, chips and pastries, laundry soap, bath items, toiletries, honey based products and bottled water.

ENERAL Santos City – The government remains solidly committed to Mindanao development agenda, President Benigno S. C. Aquino III said in his keynote speech during the opening of the 23rd Mindanao Business Conference read in his stead by Mindanao Development Authority Secretary Luwalhati R. Antonino.
According to Antonino, President Aquino failed to attend this yearly gathering of big investors and businessmen in Mindanao due to “equally important commitments have rendered him unable.” Ms. Antonino, nonetheless, stressed that “President Aquino remains solidly committed to our collective Mindanao development agenda.”
“My administration has recognized the importance of Mindanao development to our overall march for national progress. It is just timely and relevant that we endeavor to put Mindanao at the forefront of our efforts to achieve inclusive growth,” the President said. While business leaders and other participants in the annual event, organized
by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), declined to verbalize their disappointment over the President’s absence, majority in the conference were lined up at the lunch buffet table as Ms. Antonino delivered the speech. Most innovative DAVAO del Norte -- Two Produkto DavNor products recently bagged awards in separate trade exhibitions in Davao City. Vegetable chips from Frux Food Products and “Tungkod ni Juan” (Cane of Juan) from Ubra ni Juan grabbed the most innovative awards in the Great Mindanao Food Fair at Abreeza Mall and Mindanao Craft and Cultural Village at SM Lanang, respectively. Frux Food Products and Ubra ni Juan are members of the Produkto DavNor, a provincial initiated seal of quality products made in Davao del Norte, which are regularly displayed at the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex. Ryan Llana, marketing head of Frux Food Products, said that the vegetable chips was inspired by some producers in Visayas.
