Shutdowns TWO export companies in Northern Mindanao have permanently shutdown operations pushed by the adverse impact of the pandemic while others are seeking government intervention amid continuing challenges in sustaining their operations. This was revealed by Valerie R. Lasmarias, acting managing director for Cagayan de Oro chapter of the Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc. (PhilExport) during an online regional consultation. Lasmarinas identified the two firms that have closed shop for good as South Bukidnon Fresh Trading Inc. and Valencia Rubbertex Inc.
Airport upgrade COTABATO City – The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has committed additional funding for the completion of the Central Mindanao Airport (CMA), North Cotabato Gov. Nancy Catamco said Tuesday. Catamco said the additional funding reflects President Rodrigo Duterte’s "support to the people of North Cotabato and Mindanao, in general." The governor noted that the national government funded the airport project in the 2018 and 2019 annual budgets to the tune of P130 million, which covers the construction of its taxiway, expansion of the airport apron, and perimeter fence.
