Briefly Negosyo Centers IN its continuous efforts in carrying its mandate of enabling the Micro, Small and Medium Entreprises (MSMEs) in Northern Mindanao, the Department of Trade and Industry – Region 10 launched two more Negosyo Centers in Lanao del Norte. Located in the municipalities of Kapatagan and Lala, the launching of these Negosyo Centers marked the 15th and 16th in the region, and 289th and 290th in the country, respectively, since the implementation of Republic Act 10644 otherwise known as the “Go Negosyo Act” in 2014, authored by Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino. Both launchings were attended by a representative from the office of Sen. Bam Aquino, Luke Buniel, DTI Region 10 Director Linda O. Boniao, DTI Lanao del Norte Provincial Director Ruel B. Paclipan, a representative from the office of Congressman Abdullah Dimaporo, and lawyer Donato Calica.

Green Gown Awards XAVIER University - Ateneo de Cagayan has been recognized as a GUPES Finalist for this year’s Global Universities Partnership on Environment and Sustainability Green Gown Awards. XU was one of the four academic institutions in Asia and the Pacific in the Community Engagement category, along with Aklan State University (GUPES Finalist), De La Salle University (GUPES Highly Commended), and Fiji National University (GUPES Winner). GUPES Green Gown Awards winners were announced at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston, USA on September 13. Universities from five global regions went head to head to become the inaugural GUPES Green Gown Awards winners. Entries were wide ranging from solar dancing flowers to fog catchers to protecting Nemo to aboriginal engagement, among other initiatives.
