Skills training MARAWI City -- The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Philippines and Holcim Help h av e j o i n e d hands w i th the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) to provide local residents with a skills enhancement training program. UN-Habitat and Holcim Help, the corporate citizenship program of Holcim Philippines, Inc., signed on Friday a memorandum of understanding with Tesda to train interested individuals in carpentry and masonry. Employment outlook PHILIPPINE businessmen are maintaining a positive employment outlook despite a weaker sentiment in the third quarter of the year. Results of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) thirdquarter Business Expectations Survey (BES), conducted from July 10 to September 10, showed that respondents’ e mp l o y me n t outl ook r em ai n on positive territory at 19.6 percent, although this is lower than the 26 percent recorded in the previous quarter’s survey. “This suggests that more firms will continue to hire new employees, although the number that said so (is) lower compared to the Q2 2019 survey result,” the central bank said in its report.
