Investment scam DAVAO City – The Davao Extension Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued an advisory against five companies soliciting investments from the public within its area of responsibility and promising high returns. SEC-Davao said one of these companies is engaged in the unauthorized selling of bitcoins. SEC-Davao, which covers Davao Region, Soccsksargen and Maguindanao province in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, has cautioned investors not to engage with World of Survey (WOS), Mining City, Hoton Retail and Services Incorporated (Hoton), Achievers Golden Marketing and Consulting and Raging Business Consultancy Services.
Oil exploration THE Department of Energy (DOE) has opened the bids submitted by parties interested to explore untapped energy resources in the West Philippine Sea under the Philippine Conventional Energy Contracting Program (PCECP). During the opening of bids Monday, DOE said the bidders for the four nominated areas under the PCECP have passed the agency’s requirements. DOE evaluated the bidders for their work program and technical, financial, and legal qualifications.

HE 7,500 metric tons of industrial garbage that were dumped in the Misamis Oriental town of Tagoloan have all been shipped back to its place of origin in South Korea after two years, a Customs official said, calling it a "victory for Filipinos".
In a statement Friday, John Simon, Bureau of CustomsRegion 10 (BOC-10) district collector, said the shipment of the last batch of garbage on September 15 was a way of sending a message to other countries that the Philippines is not a dumping site of their wastes. Simon also called on other countries to comply with the International Agreement on the Control of Transboundary
