Briefly Davao venture CEBU-based real estate developer Cebu Landmasters, Inc. (CLI), announced that it will start working on its first venture in Davao with three real estate projects starting in 2017 in partnership with the Davao-based YusonComm Investments, Inc. On September 1, 2016 Cebu Landmasters will sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with YusonComm Investments of the prominent Villa-Abrille clan in Davao City. The three projects will include a mid-market condo conveniently located on E. Jacinto that will be pre-selling already by January, 2017, as well as a Riverside Mixed-Use project along the McArthur Highway and a Times Beach Lifestyle Mixed-Use project in Matina, that are both in the pipeline.

Backbone MINDANAO’S 230-kilovolt (kV) transmission backbone project will enable the entry of an additional 2,400 megawatt (MW) of power capacity in the northern and southern part of the island as new plants go online, the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) said on Tuesday. “The approval of the 230kV transmission backbone project will ensure sufficiency of supply, the reliability of power system and the power transfer in the Mindanao grid,” said Jose Vicente B. Salazar, ERC chairman and chief executive officer, in a statement.

ILINVEST’S Misamis Power Plant has started putting online its second generating unit supplying an additional 135-megawatt (MW) of coal-fired power to the Mindanao grid.

NEW CAPACITY. Misamis Power Plant, FDC’s coal power generating plant at the Phividec Industrial Estate, has fired up its second unit, providing additional capacity to the Mindanao grid.

Barely a month after inaugurating the first of its three 135-MW generating units, the Misamis Power Plant, located at the Phividec Industrial Estate in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental, now provides a maximum of 270-MW of electricity to the power-starved Mindanao grid. THE energization of the newly installed, 75-megavolt ampere (MVA) in Misamis Oriental would strengthen power grid supply in Mindanao, the National Grip Corporation of the Philippines announced Thursday. Beth Ladaga, the NGCP spokesperson, said the newly upgraded and

energized MVA, located at Opol Substation in Misamis Oriental, was energized last August 20. She said the new facility would cater to the power needs of grid-users, specifically in the load centers in Northern Mindanao like in the cities of Iligan and Cagayan De Oro.
