Briefly Investment forum AT least 40 investors who flew to the Philippines from China to attend the Global Investment Forum being held now in Taguig City have started looking at Mindanao for prospective investment opportunities. Mahal Ko Mindanao, Inc. Chairman Andy Que said yesterday that he was able to convince investors from China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan to visit the country to scout for investment prospects in the country. Mahal Ko Mindanao Inc. coorganized the Global Investment Forum with Philippine First Investment Council Corporation.

New PEZA chief backs Mindanao development

Food terminal THE ci t y g o v e rn m e n t o f Cagayan de Oro together with barangay officials led the opening of the Barangay Food Terminal (BFT) in Barangay Balulang on November 22. The BFT is a national project implemented by the Department of Agriculture through the city government. DA provides P400,000 financial assistance for the building construction, equipment and operating capital while the barangay council shares P40,000 as equity. The food terminal project hopes to provide alternative source of farmers’ produce through direct marketing. This will assure consumers availability of quality food products such as vegetables, meat, poultry, fish and basic commodities at low prices.
