Briefly Cebu-Sursur flights CEBU Pacific (CEB) is boosting its direct service between Cebu and Tandag, Surigao del Sur, with three additional flight frequencies and will operate a total of six weekly flights from November 18 to December 2, 2014. This should give tourists more access to Tandag, the gateway to the Enchanted River, the Britania Group of Islands, Cagwait Beach, Tinuyan Falls and the surfing spot of Lanuza. The direct service also adds connectivity to the Caraga region, with CEB already operating flights from Cebu to Siargao, Surigao and Butuan.

Role of barangays BUTUAN City -- Liga ng mga Barangay Presidents across the region participated the Regional Forum on “Role of Barangays: Way Forward to ASEAN Integration” conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region XIII last October 2829, 2014 at Samping Avenue, this city. The forum was called primarily to facilitate understanding among the barangays through their respective Liga presidents on the concept, objectives and ramifications of the ASEAN Economic Integration (AEI) which will be established in 2015. It was presented by the National Economic and Development Authority – Region XIII (NEDA 13) Regional Director Mylah Faye Aurora B. Cariño herself as a show of NEDA’s critical role and support in this move for integration. The forum also provided an avenue for some of the key government agencies for ASEAN integration to present their preparations thus far as well as to impart the roles that the local government units, especially the barangays, can play to support the AEI.

Bukidnon palm oil project gets P80-M bank financing THE Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) signed recently a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the development of a palm oil plantation and oil mill in Kalilangan, Bukidnon under its Tree Plantation Financing and Sustainable Agri-Business Financing Programs.

The project, which is being undertaken in partnership with the Bali Oil Palm Produce Corporation (BOPPC) and Kalilangan Oil Palm Growers Association (KOPGA), involves the development of 3,000 hectares of palm oil plantation and the establishment of a 30-ton per palm oil/PAGE 10
