Briefly PUI dies BUTUAN City – A 24-yearold man who was rushed to the Caraga Regional Hospital (CRH) in Surigao City died after more than an hour of admission and after being categorized as a patient under investigation (PUI) on March 26. The person was considered PUI because of his recent travel to an area with a positive case of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) and also had a cough, Department of HealthCaraga (DOH-13) director Jose Llacuna Jr. told the Philippine News Agency on Friday night. Before being rushed to the CRH, Llacuna said the patient was first admitted to a private hospital because of his chronic renal failure.
Quarantine centers DAVAO City – In order to decongest the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) here, the city government is preparing five quarantine centers for patients under investigation (PUIs) for the 2019 coronavirus disease (Covid-19). Mayor Sara Duterte said the prospective PUI centers are the Malagos Rehab Center, La Vida Inn located in Maa, Alternative Learning School (ALS) beside People’s Park, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) near the Malagos Rehab Center, and the Queensland Hotel, which has offered 240 rooms to the city government. A big appliance company has also offered container vans that can be converted into medical facilities to accommodate PUIs.
