Briefly Industrial park BANAYBANAY, Davao Oriental – The Davao Oriental provincial government and its foreign partner Pionaire Finance Limited held a ceremonial ground breaking for the multi-billion industrial park in Banaybanay town, Davao Oriental Wednesday.

The event followed the signing of a memorandum of agreement between Governor Nelson Dayanghirang and Pionaire President Bill Shen during the Davao Oriental Industrial Park Business Conference at the Marco Polo Hotel.

Dayanghirang said the province hopes the proposed 1,500-hectare industrial zone would usher in socio-economic improvement to the province and its people. It is expected to draw investments and 20,000 local jobs.

Lanao Sur, Maguindanao residents receive P25M agricultural assistance

AT total of P25 million in agricultural assistance was given to residents in some areas of Lanao del Sur, including Marawi City, and Maguindanao who were affected by conflicts.

Nearly 500,000 were displaced during the fivemonth siege of Marawi City and hundreds more were affected by atrocities committed by the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) in Maguindanao.

The aid—whose main objective is to boost local agricultural production— came from the Kingdom of Belgium and was coursed

through the United Nations’ Fo o d a n d A g r i c u l t u r e Organization (FAO), whose re pre s e nt at ive s v i s it e d Marawi on March 19 and 20.

Ac c o r d i n g t o FAO, the assistance will benefit communities in Marawi City and outlying municipalities of L an a o d e l Su r an d Maguindanao, which are just starting to get back on their feet after conflicts destroyed much of their areas and livelihood.

In a statement, FAO noted that the conflicts have taken a heavy toll on rural livelihoods and industries, as well as the food supply and

agribusiness value chain, on which smallholders depend for their daily subsistence.

FAO said Belgium gave cash and was channeled through the FAO-SFERA

(Special Fund for Emergency and Rehabilitation Activities) to fund the purchase and distribution of rice, corn vegetable seeds, fertilizer, farming tools and broiler

chicken production packages to 4,949 farming families in Marawi, Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao.

Robinsons buys Rustan’s grocery stores for P18-B T HE Gokongwei’s Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. (RRHI) is acquiring Rustan Supercenters Inc. (RSCI) from Pan-Asian retail giant Dairy Farm Group through a shareswap deal valued at P18 billion.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, RRHI said it has agreed to partner with Dairy Farm “to build a leading food retail business.”

The respective Boards of Directors of RRHI and Mulgrave Corporation B.V (MCBV) approved the acquisition by RRHI of MCBV’s 100 percent stake in RSCI through

a share for share swap involving shares of RSCI in exchange for primary common shares of RRHI. RSCI operates food retail brands Marketplace

by Rustan’s, Rustan’s Supermarket, Shopwise Hypermarket, Shopwise Express and Wellcome in the Philippines.

MCBV is whollyowned member of Dairy Farm International Holdings, Ltd. Group of companies which is a unit of Hong Kong’s Jardine Matheson group.

Aside from the share swap of new RRHI shares, the firm said “certain members of the Gokongwei family intend to sell some of their

shares which will result in t*he Gokongwei Family effectively owning 51 percent of the expanded capital of RRHI.” After the completion of the secondary sale tranche, Dairy Farm, through MCBV, will own 18.25 percent of RRHI. “Leveraging the combined strengths of RRHI and RSCI will lead to benefits to customers in terms of even better service, quality and value,” said RRHI. It added that, “this transaction is intended to be completed once the necessary approvals are obtained from the shareholders of RRHI, the Philippine Competition

Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission.”

MCBV had initially acquired a 50 percent stake in RSCI from the Tantoco family in 2012 before increasing this to 66 percent and, eventually, 100 percent.

The Dairy Farm Group operates supermarkets, hypermarkets, health and beauty stores, convenience stores, home furnishing stores, and restaurants around Asia.

The Group carries well-known brands like Wellcome, Giant, Cold Storage, Jason’s Marketplace and Maxim’s.

It also operates 7-Eleven and Ikea stores in Asia.

Globe Telecom ties up with Shakey’s for mobile payment, toll-free delivery GLOBE Telecom Inc. has partnered with Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures Inc (SPAVI) for toll-free delivery calls and for the use of Globe’s in-store mobile payments and deliveries.

“The next [step] would be all companyowned stores from 11 now, to 116 stores,” Mr. Concepcion told reporters on the sidelines of the partnership launch.

Other GCash partners include Ayala Malls and Robinsons Malls.

SSS head optimistic of hike in SSS contribution in 2018 SOCIAL Security System (SSS) President and CEO Emmanuel Dooc remains hopeful of an increase in the agency’s contribution this year.

Dooc, in a press briefing Thursday, said a copy of the increase proposal has been submitted to Malacanang and they continue to regularly follow it up with the Department of Finance

(DOF).

He said DOF officials continue to study the proposal, which is targeted to improve the state-run pension fund’s assets to be able to deliver more efficient services to its members.

He said there is a slim chance that it can still be implemented in the first half of this year or around June although he is hoping that it

can be implemented in the second half.

“The earlier, the bigger will be our collection,” he said.

Under the proposal, contribution of members will be hiked from 11 percent to 14 percent to compensate for the increase in pension since 2017.

SSS is also asking for the increase in the minimum salary credit from

PHP1,000 to PHP4,000 and the maximum cap from PHP16,000 to PHP20,000.

These proposals are expected to bring in additional PHP45 billion in contribution revenues, which is projected to lengthen SSS’s fund life from 2032 to 2044.

-ooo MELANIO P. MAURICIO, SR.: A MAN GUIDED BY GOD! Two years after my father, Mr. Melanio Pauco Mauricio, Sr. of Ramos, Tarlac, passed on to the great beyond, I continue to be firm in my belie that he was a man who lived with the grace and guidance of God. I personally

witnessed many proofs of this grace and guidance of God for my father, but I request our readers here to allow me to dwell on just a few of them today.

First, Daddy lost his mother, Mrs. Restituta Melegrito Pauco Mauricio, early on in his life, while he was only five years old. In his recollections shared with me and my siblings in times past, Daddy complained that because of his very tender age when his mother passed away, he could not even remember how she looked.

As a result, Daddy grew up under the tutelage of his own father, my grandfather Mr. Juan Dizon Mauricio.

On account of economic difficulties, however, Daddy managed to complete only his elementary education (at the Ramos Elementary School), and his secondary education at the Central Luzon High School (at Paniqui, Tarlac).

After high school, my father no longer pursued a college

degree, and instead joined a cousin of his in endless wanderings.

It was at this point that my father came to know of a young lass who was then steeped in studying at the Philippine Normal College at Taft Avenue, Manila, by the name of Salvacion Haber Lazo, of San Ildefonso-Sta.

Lucia-Vigan, Ilocos Sur. Unknown to the young lady, who would become my Mommy, Daddy had become infatuated with her right away when they were both passengers of a JD Bus (JD buses were highly popular then, plying the route Taft Avenue-Quirino 2-2, Quezon City).

One day, Daddy asked a friend of his from our town in Ramos to join him in riding in the JD bus where my mother was again a passenger.

The two of them sat directly behind her, and talked in Ilocano about Mommy. To the surprise of Daddy and his friend, Mommy suddenly blurted out, also in Ilocano, the following: “So you are also Ilocanos. How dare you to be talking about another Ilocano.” That started their colorful courtship and, of course, our own lineage.

Our capacity to suffer hints and traces

roy cimagala SINCE suffering and death are unavoidable in our life, we just have to see to it that we develop the appropriate skill and capacity to suffer and die. In this regard, the only way to proceed is to be vitally identified with Christ who knew how to suffer and die, how to conquer sin and the suffering and the death

that come as a consequence of sin.

And let’s take note of this important point. Not only is he teaching us how to suffer.

He actually accompanies us in our suffering and death.

He is willing to suffer and to die with us!

This is what we can gather as we go through the passion, death and resurrection of Christ during the celebration of what is known as the Easter triduum that starts in the evening of Holy Thursday with the Mass of the Last Supper, then the Passion and Death of Christ on Good Friday and his Resurrection on Easter Sunday.

It would be good if we find time to meditate more deeply and slowly on this most important event in

the liturgical calendar that actually culminates and summarizes the redemptive work of Christ.

We have to understand that Christ’s passion, death and resurrection are what complete our creation, providing us with everything we need to be reconciled with God our Creator and Father and to be what we ought to be.

And all we have to do now is to apply the merits of Christ’s redemptive work on ourselves. Let’s remember that Christ does not impose his good designs for us on us. We have to freely accept and correspond to them.

So, we really need to know how to suffer with Christ. Any problem that we encounter in life, in whatever form

and degree it comes, should always be referred and united to the suffering of Christ. We have to avoid going through our suffering simply on our own. That would simply be disastrous.

With Christ, we would know why suffering comes, why it can be a redemptive means, a clear expression of love and of obedience to the will of God. With Christ, we would lose the fear of suffering and would even develop a welcoming attitude toward it, considering that it is not only good for us only, but also for others. We would realize that it has tremendous sanctifying, purifying and atoning power.

BSP cuts TDF offering for Holy Week auction PHILIPPINES’ monetary officials cut the offering for the 14-day and 28-day Term Deposit Facility (TDF) for the auction set on March 28, 2018.

Data released by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Wednesday night showed that the 14day facility will be offered for P30 billion in next week’s auction, down from the P40 billion this week.

Also, offering for the 28-day facility was cut to P10 billion from P20 billion until this week.

Volume offering for the seven-day facility was kept

at P50 billion.

During the auction this Wednesday, the longertenor facilities registered undersubscription unlike the seven-day facility.

The 14-day facility, which was offered for P40 billion, received bids amounting to P35.955 billion and the longesttenor TDF got tenders amounting to P19.963 billion, lower than the P20 billion offering.

Monetary officials, in turn, accepted all the bids for both tenors.

SOME 250,000 Social Security System (SSS) members are expected to avail of the agency’s second loan restructuring program (LRP), which is projected to bring in PHP1.2 billion in the pension fund’s coffers.

In a briefing Thursday, SSS President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Emmanuel Dooc said the six-month loan condonation program, which will run from April 2 to October 1, 2018, will be conducted to allow members in disaster-hit areas pay their loans.

Among those who are qualified to avail of the program are those living or working in areas affected by the siege in the cities of Marawi and Zamboanga and the eruption of Mayon Volcano.

Under the second LRP, member-borrowers will be allowed to settle their unpaid overdue loan principal and interest in full or by instalment.

“We encourage borrowers to take advantage of this opportunity,” Dooc said, noting that the LPR will be done to allow more

OVERNMENT revenues surpassed the growth pace of public spending in the first month of the year following the implementation of the first tax reform law, the Bureau of the Treasury reported.

Data from the Treasury bureau showed yesterday that the Duterte administration posted a

budget surplus of P10.2 billion in January this year, more than a threefold increase compared with P2.2 billion last year.

State revenues jumped 19 percent during the month to P238.9 billion from P200.3 billion a year before. Of that amount, tax collections rose 18 percent to P217.8 billion, while non-taxes accelerated by 35 percent to 21.1 billion.

In January, the Bureau

of Internal Revenue raised P175.6 billion, an increase of 19 percent year-onyear, while the Bureau of Customs registered a 14 percent growth from last year to P40.8 billion.

Other offices, meanwhile, collected P14.4 billion, up 52 percent year-on-year, while the Treasury bureau raised P8.1 percent during the month, a slight increase compared with P8 billion

borrowers clean up their obligations.

Citing SSS records, Dooc said there are about 250,000 SSS members who have past due account of at least six months.

It also shows that employers’ delinquency amounts to around P13 billion.

To date, SSS has about 36 million members but only 15 million are active members, Dooc said.

The SSS chief said there are members who have been clamoring for the extension of the first LPR, which was done for a year

and ended in April 27, 2017.

He, however, said they cannot extend it without the authority of Malacanang or Congress.

So, for the second time only we are offering the second LRP. (That’s why we decided to re-implement it. We requested Malacanang to give us another chance to implement it with the

Dooc said about 850,000 SSS members availed of the first loan condonation program, which allowed the agency to collect about P6 billion worth of loans and penalties.

He said they are doing their best to collect unpaid dues to be able to efficiently service the needs of their members without tapping the funds for investments.

“This year, expected benefit payout is P191 billion,” he said. (PNA)

reparations for the East Asian Seas Congress 2018 is now in full swing with the collaboration of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) of the Philippines and Partnerships in Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia (PEMSEA).

The 2018 East Asian Seas (EAS) Congress will be held on November 27-30, 2018 at the Iloilo Convention Center.

Themed “25 Years of Partnerships for Healthy Oceans, People and Economies: Moving as One with the Global Ocean Agenda,” the EAS Congress is the sixth in a series of EAS triennial ocean conferences that aims to usher in better, stronger and smarter regional actions that are strategically aligned with the key principles and targets of the global ocean agenda.

The EAS Congress builds on the voluntary commitments and call for action of the UN Ocean Conference held last June 2017 and is

focused on meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted in 2015, and related international environmental commitments. At its core is the intention to meet SDG 14 on Life Below Water, where oceans have gained political, social, economic and ecological prominence that the world has never seen before.

Cimatu urges Pinoys to go beyond Earth Hour, make energy conservation a habit Environment Secretary Roy A. Cimatu has asked millions of Filipinos participating in this year’s Earth Hour to take the next step and live an environment-friendly lifestyle that goes beyond the hour.

“We must go beyond merely switching off lights for an hour if we really want to make a greater impact in fighting climate change,” Cimatu said.

“Let us regard every hour of every day as an opportunity to do more, so that nature may fully shine,” he added.

Earth Hour 2018, which carries the theme “Let nature shine,” will be observed on March 24 at 8:30-9:30pm, and Cimatu said what people do between the annual observance should be the cause for celebration.

“What will matter more in global efforts to tame climate change are the things we do between the annual celebrations of Earth Hour – they should, cumulatively, provide the cause for the celebrations,” Cimatu said.

Cimatu said it is high time people go beyond the given hour and make it a habit of using less energy and adopting other ecofriendly measures to mitigate the effects of climate change.

“The challenge for us is to do more beyond Earth Hour, and on a continuing basis,” he pointed

out.

According to Cimatu, there are many other ways of mitigating or adapting to climate change beyond putting out unnecessary lights.

“Among these are car pooling; cutting back on the consumption of goods that take large amounts of carbon emissions to produce, package, transport and market; switching to energy-efficient appliances and devices; shifting to renewable energy; and raising more forests to serve as carbon sinks,” he said.

Cimatu has also instructed all regional offices and bureaus of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to conduct activities in support of the one-hour switch off event.

Although the Philippines has a relatively smaller carbon footprint compared to other nations, Cimatu said this should not be an excuse but a reason for the country to be a leading advocate of climate change mitigation and adaptation being one of the territories most vulnerable to the impacts of such global phenomenon.

Aurecon recognised at ACES Design Excellence Awards for second consecutive year

he engineering and infrastructure advisory company was honoured with a Merit Award for its innovative upgrading of a medical school building, and Technical Director Joshua Loke received the Young Consulting Engineer (Mechanical) award.

The Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore (ACES) recognised Aurecon’s future-ready engineering and design expertise for the second consecutive year during the ACES Design Excellence Awards on March 22 at the Resorts World Convention Centre in Singapore. Aurecon’s Technical Director for Built Environment, Joshua Loke, received the Young Consulting Engineer (Mechanical) Award while the company was honoured with the Merit Award (M&E, A1 category) for its work in upgrading Block MD10, a medical and research facility at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

“I am honoured and

delighted to receive this award from ACES. As engineers, the majority of our work is invisible to the end-users but what we do is just as important in ensuring a better future for everyone. So, I would like to share this recognition with my mentors, managers and team mates who have helped me reach this high point in my career,” said Loke.

The ACES Design Excellence Awards recognise projects and young consulting engineers who have demonstrated engineering design excellence and made valuable contribution to the profession in Singapore.

With more than 12 years’ experience as a professional mechanical engineer, Loke specialises in leading technically-challenging projects in data centres, educational institutions, laboratories, healthcare, and resorts. One such project he led is Block MD10, which is also being honoured in this year’s ACES Design

Excellence Awards.

“The Block MD10 project was fantastic to work on due to the high level of collaboration within the multi-disciplinary team.

Because of the humancentred approach we adopted, the alteration and additions on Block MD10 resulted in a more harmonious interaction between the end-users and building operations, while improving the building’s efficiency and sustainability ratings,” Loke added.

Future-ready facility Block MD10 is a four-storey building, housing an anatomy hall, laboratories, lecture rooms, museum, mortuary, and administrative and faculty offices. Its role is to nurture future medical and science professionals.

At 30 years old, the building no longer conformed to the latest building and energy codes. Its performance was also below optimum with insufficient ventilation and high utility consumption.

Additionally, the space no longer fitted the current end-users’ requirements, resulting in the need for an extensive upgrade.

Aurecon was appointed by the

National University of Singapore to lead the MEP engineering design to bring the building up to code while balancing the various needs of the stakeholders and the different user requirements of each floor.

As a result of innovative design, the refurbished facility expanded its teaching space by 16 per cent from the original 1 050 square metres and can now more comfortably accommodate the 800 Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy and Life Sciences undergraduate students attending Human Anatomy practicals, as well as residents and specialists participating in workshops there. It also achieved a Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Green Mark GoldPlus Award for Non-residential Existing Building (Version 3).

UN report calls for integrating risk reduction in agriculture as disasters become ‘new normal’ Developing countries like the Philippines should integrate disaster risk reduction and management in modern agriculture, as the sector continues to be devastated by disasters each year, according to a new report from the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

“A crowded field of threats that includes drought, floods, animal disease outbreaks and chemical spills are among the disasters costing farmers in the developing world billions of dollars each year,” said the newly launched “2017: The Impact of Disasters and Crises on Agriculture and Food Security.”

“The agriculture sectors-which include crop and livestock production as well as forestry, fisheries and aquaculture-face many risks, such as climate and market volatility, pests and diseases, extreme weather events, and an ever-increasing number of protracted crises and conflicts,” it added.

Between 2005 and 2016, there were 260 natural disasters per year in developing countriesan 11% increase on the 1993-2004 period when the average was 235 per year, and a more than two-fold increase on 1981-1992

when they averaged 122 per year.

The economic impact of geophysical disasters (earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions and mass movements) has remained fairly stable over the past decades.

However, annual economic loss from climate and weather-related events has been consistently growing, as the frequency of storms, drought, and floods has grown more and more frequent.

“Though damage and loss have not yet been calculated, 2017-the most violent hurricane season on record-will certainly confirm this trend,” said the report.

It pointed out that between 2005 and 2015 natural disasters cost the agricultural sectors of developing country economies a staggering US$96 billion in damaged or lost crop and livestock production, $48 billion of which occurred in Asia.

Drought, which has battered farmers globally, was one of the leading culprits. FAO documented that 83% of all droughtcaused economic losses were absorbed by agriculture-to the tune of $29 billion.

While floods and storms had the largest impacts in Asia, their agricultural systems were also heavily affected by earthquakes, tsunamis and extreme temperatures.

The report also included “food chain crises” sparked by animal diseases, like Rift Valley Fever and also addressed conflict.

All told, nearly a quarter of all financial losses caused by natural disasters between 2005 and 2015 were borne by the agricultural sector, according to FAO’s study.

Such emergencies pose serious challenges to agricultural production and food security, said the FAO report.

“Insufficient governance and institutional capacity to deal with the resulting challenges pose a serious threat to livelihoods and food systems,” it further stated.

“In a crisis context, undernourishment can be severe and levels of stunting and underfive mortality rates and particularly high.”

The paper pointed to the importance of building resilience as a viable framework for integrating humanitarian and longterm development

initiatives.

“Disaster risk reduction and management must, therefore, become an integral part of modern agriculture,” added FAO. The report highlighted the need to develop adequate disaster and crisis governance structuresincluding enabling policies, strengthened capacities, and targeted financing mechanisms to counteract the impacts.

It also said such initiatives and structures “must be grounded on data and evidence detailing the ways that disasters affect farmers and food producers.”

To this end, bridging the knowledge gap is the first step.

“Estimating and quantifying the impact of natural disasters, climaterelated events, food chain hazards and protracted crises on the agricultural sector is crucial to protecting the investments made in development and strengthening resilience,” said FAO. “Building a more holistic and ambitious disaster-resilience framework for agriculture is crucial to ensuring sustainable development, which is a cornerstone for peace and the basis for adaptation to climate change.”

FATHER: After Daddy and Mommy got married and we, their four sons (me, Philip, Leny and the late Ariel), made our appearance, Daddy found himself involved in politics after winning as a councilor in our town. He subsequently was drafted into the Liberal Party in the province, which then was headed by a young Rep. Jose “Peping” Cojuangco, Jr. Because of his natural skill in public speaking--Cong. Peping and his fellow councilors used to call Daddy an orator---my father became a regular speaker in sorties of the congressman. Not long after, Peping learned that my father wasn’t able to pursue a college education.

That prompte d him to direct my father to study at the Cojuangco-owned Dr. Nicanor Reyes Memorial Colleges in Paniqui to get a college degree. Daddy was subsequently given a degree in education, by the grace of God and by the intercession of Cong. Peping.

Daddy turned that degree into a passport to land other government jobs, which he used, in tandem with Mommy, to enable us (including the youngest in our brood, Marisa, who also became a lawyer) to pursue our own college education.

Indeed, all of these came f r o m G o d’s b l e s s i n g s , guidance and protection for my father while he was still alive. Yes, we can only say now, thank God in the Name of Jesus. But there are more to this, actually!

The BSP has adjusted TDF volume offering for several times already.

When the facility was first introduced in June 2016, the seven-day TDF was offered for P10 billion and the 28day facility for P20 billion.

Here in Cagayan de Oro, the task of providing water was transferred to COWD in 1973 per a presidential decree.

Villegas’ remarks came at a time when three councilors sounded alarm on an alleged pattern of Metro Pacific Water Investments Corporation to privatize water districts in the country.

Councilors Teodulfo Lao, Enrico Salcedo and Reuben Daba feared that water rates would skyrocket if it is placed in the hands of the private sector.

Since January, MWIC has been supplying bulk water to COWD at P16 per cubic meter or 53 percent higher than what the utility’s previous supplier charged it.

MWIC is under t he umbrella of Metro Pacific Holdings, which is owned by the Pangilinan family magnate.

Oro Chamber past president Elpidio Paras welcomed Villegas’ remarks, saying that COWD is “saddled by a lot of politics.”

According to Presidential Decree 98, the Cagayan de Oro City mayor appoints the directors of COWD but only the Ombudsman could remove them.

Mayor Oscar Moreno, who listened to Villegas’ remarks, said it is not yet the appropriate time to privatize COWD. “We can’t shortcut the pro cess. We must f irst decrease non-revenue water before entertaining such plan,” Moreno said.

COWD has a high rate of non-revenue water, far beyond the Local Water Utilities Administration’s

(LWUA) cap.

For now, the COWD is being assisted by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in its quest to lower non-revenue water.

During Friday’s affair, Moreno added that Metro Pacific’s interest to invest in COWD “is already a good sign.”

Last year, Metro Pacific representatives verbally told the six-person COWD board that they are interested in privatizing the utility.

Thus, our suffering should not be a hindrance in doing what we are supposed to do—sanctifying ourselves, sanctifying our duties and the world in general, and helping others to sanctify themselves.

It can be a tremendous aid in carrying out the essential tasks and responsibilities we have in life.

Italpinas Development Corporation partners with the Cagayan De Oro City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (CLENRO) in order to promote sustainable management

talpinas Development Corporation spearheaded a Mangrove Tree Planting activity with 1,250 mangrove seedlings in Punta Bonbon, Cagayan de Oro City. This activity was in partnership with Damiani Property Management and Services, Inc., the official leasing and property management of IDC’s Primavera projects.

“Planting mangroves is one of the better experiences where we can link human with nature in a harmonious effort of saving the land, ocean and the planet that we live in” said Ramelo Toledo Finance and Admin Manager for Italpinas Development Corporation.

IDC had been partnering with CLENRO since its very first environmental engagement in CDO with the aim of cultivating awareness, not only to the participants, but also to the community. This is in sync with the company’s goal to promote

“Participating in a mangrove planting such as this promotes awareness as to how important it is to take care of the environment, especially nowadays.

The experience becomes an eye opener on how mangroves are important and the need for a collaborative effort to help restore its kind” added Violeta Robiato for Bachelor’s Reality.
