Corn sourcing

ABOITIZ Equity Ventures, Inc.’s (AEV) food and agribusiness subsidiary Pilmico Foods Corp. signed a memorandum of agreement with a Bukidnonbased farmer’s cooperative for an inclusive corn sourcing project. In a statement released on Monday, Pilmico will be sourcing a part of its corn requirements for its animal feeds business from the Mantibugao Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Farmers Cooperative (MARBFC). Pilmico chose MARBFC as its first inclusive supplier through the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) Corn Program Team and the local government units of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. Pilmico Chief Operating Officer Tristan S. Aboitiz in the same statement said that the company will Continue to collaborate with LGUs and communities in the future.

Science study center MISAMIS Oriental -- A P50million science study center will rise in barangay Molugan, El Salvador City in Misamis Oriental within the year. Misamis Oriental Governor Bambi Emano announced this on March 19 during the flag raising ceremony at the Capitol grounds. Governor Emano said this science study center, called Planetarium, a Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) project, would be a good venue for children to enjoy while studying the planets and the constellations using a huge telescope.

prime commodities as of March 15. Compared to their SRPs in the same month last year,
