Rice subsidy THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has started to release rice subsidy in the form of cash amounting to P600.00 a month to the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) this month. Around 4.4 million households are expected to receive the additional grant in the country. Of this number, Northern Mindanao has 270,451 active beneficiaries under the regular Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program and the Modified CCT. “Following the directive of President Rodrigo R. Duterte during his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) in June 2016, the rice subsidy hopes to address the hunger problem that the poor households continue to battle. The President wants that the poor households are able to eat everyday” said DSWD Secretary Judy Taguiwalo.
Investment program THE National Economic and Development Authority in Northern Mindanao (NEDA-X) presented the 2017-2022 Regional Development Investment Program (RDIP) to members of the media and government communicators in a forum held in Cagayan de Oro last week. The 2017-2022 RDIP is a document that will guide the implementation of programs and projects in the region in the next six years. “This document translate our Regional Development Plan into concrete and actional programs and projects in order for us to meet or achieve our development outcomes for the period,” said NEDA-X Assistant Regional Director Mae Ester T. Guiamadel.
