MisOr towns projects GOVERNOR Yevgeny Vincente B. Emano completed Friday the turnover of projects worth P13.2 million to four municipalities in Misamis Oriental. Emano turned over the newly completed covered courts in Balingasag and Jasaan, towns east of Misamis Oriental. On Thursday, Emano also turned over infrastructure projects worth PHP 5.7 million involving a two-class room building in Lugait and a covered court in Naawan, towns west of Misamis Oriental. During the turnover ceremonies, Emano said that the provincial government would deliver more infrastructure projects in the future in order to address the needs of the people in Misamis Oriental.
Longer days INCREASINGLY longer daytime and earlier sunrises will occur beginning this month in the Philippines and other Northern Hemisphere countries. Such developments will follow the annual vernal or spring equinox that will occur on Monday (March 20) at 6:29 p.m. (Philippine Standard Time), said weather observer Rex Guerrero of the state weather bureau, PAGASA. “The length of day and night will be nearly the same during the equinox and daytime in the Northern Hemisphere will begin lengthening while sunrises here will increasingly occur earlier,” he said.

EDUCING regulator y bu rd e n s to pro v i d e a conducive environment to micro and small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) growth will take center stage when the Philippines hosts the third Southeast Asia Regional Policy Network on Good Regulatory Practices (GRPN) on March 14 to 16 in Iloilo City.
Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia said the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) members would work on standardizing business registration in the region. “(In terms of the) number of signatures needed and the number of days required to get registration of a business,” he told reporters. “We’re going to emphasize similarities and work on the differences so there can be smoothing so some congruence can be achieved.” Pernia, also Director-General of National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), said the GRPN meeting will address develop/PAGE 11
