Coco choir ILIGAN City -- The Department of Trade and lndustry (DTl) - Lanao del Norte Provincial Office has provided shared service facility (SSF) coco coir geonet production to Unlad Kabayan Migrant Services Foundation, lnc. The facility is composed of 25 units heavy duty, four hub twining machine and three units loom with collapsible steel platform. These will add to their existing wooden twining and loom weaving machines from the local government of Linamon, Lanao del Norte for their beneficiaries in the three puroks of this municipality. These new machines are improved version of the existing ones and expected to last for years as they are made of steel. At present, there are 33 homeworkers--unemployed housewives of small fisherfolks and farmers who do the twining, roping and weaving.

Fire safety MARAWI City -- The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Lanao del Sur is reminding the public to be cautious against the dangers of fire during summer season. BFP Provincial Information Officer FO1 Sahara Macunte Gania said safety precautions should always be taken to prevent fires in homes, offices and communities Always unplug electrical appliances and switch off the main source of power when leaving your house to avoid fire incidents, Gania said.
