CAGAYAN de Oro City vice mayor took part in the 2016 International Conference on Urban Development: Accelerating Resilience and Inclusive Growth, which kicked off on July 12 in Manila. The conference is organized by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), through its Strengthening Urban Resilience for Growth with Equity (SURGE) project in partnership with the United Nations-Habitat, World Bank, National Competitiveness Council, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy expressed interest in topics such as Community Participation and Urban Development, and Public-Private Partnership, among others, to further equip him in his desire to effectively serve the city’s constituents.
Contractualization TAGUM City -- The People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) will conduct a Mindanao symposium in Tagum City on Saturday (July 16) to discuss the management position on contractualization. PMAP Davao Chapter President Rachel Pacaydi-Guinan said in an interview that the PMAP Mindanao Symposium will be held at Big 8 Corporate Hotel from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to gather the managers and proprietors of business establishments all over Mindanao.

GENERAL LUNA, Siargao Island -- More than one billion pesos in investments is being poured into this municipality in Siargao Island known as the “surfing capital of the Philippines.” Mayor Jaime P. Rusillon told MindaNews on Tuesday that these are mostly tourismrelated businesses. He said one of the big ticket investments this
year is the construction of a wakeboarding facility. “There is a corporation that purchased a large property early this year and they are set for the construction of the wakeboarding sports facility,” the mayor said, adding that he recently issued permit so the firm can start construction.
