DAVAO City — The city has extended the implementation of its 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. curfew and 24/7 liquor ban until January 31. Mayor Sara Duterte issued Executive Order 71, reiterating the implementation of the liquor ban to avoid transmission of the virus during drinking sessions and curfew in anticipation of a spike in COVID-19 cases resulting from the holidays. The local government warned it will strictly enforce a “onestrike rule” and closure against restaurants, sari-sari stores and similar establishments that would be caught violating the liquor ban. The Davao City Police Office and the Vices Regulation Unit have been tasked to continue to monitor and apprehend violators of the curfew and liquor ban.
