Cash shortage

TANDAG City – Notwithstanding the assurance made by Landbank of the Philippines (LBP) Tandag City Branch Manager Herbert Luna for an efficient banking service during the long holiday break, unexpectedly and uncharacteristically, the bank’s ATMs ran out of cash since January 1. However, Lani Garcia-Sy, assistant bank manager, vowed that by the first banking day on January 5, 2015, service is going back to normal. She did not mince words to admit the shortcoming but explained they can do nothing about the situation that was brought about, primarily, by Tropical Storm Seniang that hit the province on December 29. Transporting cash other than the usual land route would be difficult, she hinted, referring to the detour bridge traversing the Hubo river in Barangay Buhisan, San Agustin town, 64.5 kilometers south of Tandag City, that was washed out.
