Briefly Anti-trafficking NON-governmental and legal advocacy group Balaod Mindanaw has stepped up its anti-human trafficking efforts. Balaod Mindanaw executive director Normie Batula said that all 52 schools in Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental that they have trained in 2017 have already formulated their respective policies in their campuses to prevent human trafficking. Batula said that in order to mitigate human trafficking, school s mu s t h a v e c l e a r coordination and open lines of communication with barangay officials, the police station in their area, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

AVAO City — The city government has set a new record after it ended 2017 with more than 40,000 businesses and a total investment value of P270 billion, Mayor Sara Duterte said.
The city surpassed its 2016 record of 39,238 business establishments with total investment value worth P230.83 billion.

Resumed infras ILIGAN City -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will soon resume its 2016 and 2017 infrastructure projects that were suspended during the Marawi siege. The plan was discussed during a coordination meeting organized by Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) Field Office Manager and Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) Asec. The suspended infrastructure projects include rehabilitation and repair of roads, construction of water systems and line canals, completion of Marawi diversion roads, construction of school buildings, and road concreting within the city.
